Hi everyone,

I normally lurk and read only posted a couple of things in the past, but here i am 38 + 5 starting a thread...ooh brave!

Just wondering if anyone else is experincing period type pains under their bumps? I have been gettting them, very few and far between for the last couple of weeks, but this week ive been getting them a little more often, maybe 4-5 times a day spread out, no rhyme or reason.

I mentioned this to my MW she said they are braxton hicks, has anyone else had this then gone into labour? Is this how labour starts etc etc...

x

They sound very much like the BH contractions, and ligament stretching. I'd guess your midwife is right.

Ahh heres me hoping that it means labour is somewhere near!!

I am having the same, and wondered if they could be braxton hicks, although I don't get any tightenings, do you?

I've had heavy period type pains with NO tightenings either, not sure what this means

my mw told me on monday that babies engaged and trying to stay their so you may get these type period pains x

Hmmm good to know I'm not alone.

I've been having these too for the last week or so. Hoping that it means labour won't be too far away x

sounds like braxton hicks to me. i get them more when i am active and moving around

Maybe you just need a good trump? :winkwink: xx

Ive been getting these for about the past 2 weeks......also my babies head is down and also get the brief shooting pains too apparently from babies head on the pelvic floor

Am i too early to be getting this? All you ladies are a bit further along than me???

Glad to see its not just me with these pains! Thanks for your replies. I have also been going to the toliet more maybe 3-4 times a day for a "clear out" so im really hoping its all a good sign. When i went to the MW last week she was 3/5 engaged, heres hoping she hasnt popped back out and that shes now fully engaged!

Im 38 + 6 and getting mighty uncomfortable! Last night my back and pelvis were clicking as i moved from side to side in bed i sounded like i was about 80 years old and my pelvis feels like its going to break in half im waddling like a massive fat duck!

Never mind hopefully it wont be too long now i cant wait to try to get my body back to some kind of normality - not that my brain will be lol!

Im also getting these and like a few seconds burning sensation that goes with it. However, I don't get tightening?? Well at least not that I know of?? Also thought it was BH but who knows

yeh..sounds like me...i only get this if i have had a busy day...im hopin it is jus BH as im not as prepared for baby as i want to be yet.. can u ever be prepared enough for a baby? lol x

I was up all last night with intense period like cramping. I thought it might be the start of something but they eased off around 5:30AM. I`m super excited about them as it means something is happening and hopefully will be meeting my little boy soon!

We're both due on the same date :)

..and no you're not the only one quite far behind and getting them. I've been getting these pains for the last 2 weeks on and off too and I asked my midwife about it last week and she said it was braxton hicks and they can get very painful.
