My baby has for the past day had poo that's looks like pesto with bits in it. Is this normal? Normally it's yellow/mustard colour and much more wet.

Hi :) by pesto, do you mean green? I had this with my LO and found out it was a sign that she was very slightly dehydrated. When I thought about it she hadn't fed as much the past few days so it made sense.
For the next few days I offered her lots of extra feeds to make sure shhe was getting enough to drink and her poo return to normal :)

This happened to us, I just started feeding one breast each feeding and it fixe the problem

green poo is often a sign that baby is getting loads of foremilk and not enough hind milk. Like the previous poster said, try feeding from one breast then burp, then back on the same breast. Bubs will get all the hind milk and you may notice that bubs sleeps more with the fatty hind milk on board. Good luck

My baby's poo has always looked like this, and I combi-feed. She's only had one yellow poo when she was a week old.

This is what I was told by the lactation nurse. However, feeding my DD back on the same breast did not help (poo continued to be green, even though it was yellow up to 2 weeks). I mentioned it to the pediatrician, and he didn't seem concerned at all as DD was gaining weight normally.

I don't think it's an imbalance of hindmilk/foremilk because I feed from one boob for half an hour and the other for 10 minutes.
I think it's supposed to be green and foamy when that's the problem?

It literally looked like pesto! Quite thick. But I wouldn't have thought that he was dehyrdated as he'd been feeding as normal.

But today his poo has returned back to normal, maybe he was just having a weird poo day?

Could be a sign of intolerance to something. What is your diet like? Alex only had green poo when he got too much foremilk.

I did eat foods that I wouldn't normally eat, went out for a Japanese - maybe that was something to do with it? My food was quite spicy!

My baby would have a couple of green and a couple of yellow poos a day until about 10 weeks when she started digesting her food better and pooing less frequently (went from 9-10 a day to about 4-6). For us it was just something she grew out of.
