Photography what equipment would I need?

I'm hoping to have a career in photography but with a newborn baby it will be a while before I can go to college and get qualifications. So in the meantime I want to start practising.I'm looking to do studio work focusing on families and children. Aside from a camera what other equipment would I need? i.e lighting,backgrounds etc. Any recomendations? x

A tripod for sure to stabalise the images

I just work with a camera and props for families and children. No flash - all natural light.

But believe me, do not live by not using flash. Please buy a flash gun/speedlite. Most essential.

I think it depends on what you're photographing. I do baby/children shoots and flash is not needed at all. Yes for weddings though - if you're doing receptions.
