Its not disgusting at all. Me and all my family are from the east end and its a traditional meal for the working class.

I agree the liquor (green stuff) might not look that appatising, but its lovely, I could eat a jug full.

I was brought up on the stuff, and still probably have it once a week when I visit family.

I thought about serving it at my wedding too, or fish and chips. I personally love it, and go and have a proper knees up! Not everyone wants posh nosh for weddings!

Thats the trouble, i dont think i could stomach it because of the mention of eels, if you would of told me it were really really mushy peas i would of probably attempted to try it but i dont think i can stomach it knowing what its made of lol

lol its not made of eels hun its purely parsley and cornflour, they do sell jellied eels, which Ive never tried! I think I just take offense when people say 'its fucking disgusting'!!

I feel I have to defend it,

I didnt know they sometimes use the water, which they store the eels in!

urm its usually quite thick, so not runny and watery, just a light parsley taste really (funnily enough, dopey me eh!) When I manage to drag the OH to pie n mash, he has gravy, but lily loves it!

Its really nice with vinegar on, or usually nowadays they give u chili vinegar which adds a bit of spice! Really fancy a bowl now, oh and its really really filling!
You could try it before you go? ask for just pie n mash and the liqour on the side?

Sorry if I offended you embo, but i've seen and smelt that shit and I wouldn't touch it.. the way it pours is bad enough lol and the talk of eels disgusts me as it does polo princess. I can't eat something, if the thought of it has put me off already.
