Hi ladies I took the pill for 11 years so I should be able to answer this question but .....
I have my period every 30 days give or take a few days. I'm going on holiday on 24th June for 2 weeks (until 8th july) so I've taken a month of the pill in an attempt to change my period date. I finished the pack on Friday and I'm currently waiting for breakthrough bleed. Am i right in thinking that my proper period should start 30(ish) days from the day I took the last pill? Or would it be 30 days from the breakthrough bleed? Basically just don't want to get AF on holiday but I can't carry on with the pill the hormones just don't agree with me at all anymore x

If you're trying to regulate back to your normal cycles, it's hard to say exactly when it would be. I usually get my breakthrough bleed about 4 days after I take my last pill (7 day pill break). So I take my last pill on Saturday, usually get my bleed on Wednesday, it lasts until Sunday when I start the next pack. Your bleed when you stop will start roughly when it normally does. When your first real natural period will be, who knows? If you have roughly 30 day cycles, it could be 30 days after the first day of the breakthrough bleed. But starting and stopping the pill can cause everything to fluctuate wildly, so it's impossible to know. You could have a 35 day cycle. You could have a really short luteal phase and end up with a 26 day cycle. You could get your period 2 weeks after your bleed for some random reason because the hormones have screwed things up. Typically it would be from the start of one period to the start of the next though, but this next month could just be a bit wacky as your body adjusts.
