pillows and duvets

my LO is one in a couple of weeks. He really resting his head on either the pillows on my bed or cushions on the sofa. Just wondering when people starting giving their babies pillows.

I just think it would be nice and help him get to sleep better if he was snug in his cot tucked in with his head on a pillow rather than just a empty cot with his sleeping bag?
