Hi everyone

I'm terrified. Just been the loo and noticed I had pinkish spotting in my underwear. I am 15 weeks, I've got no pain but do you think I need to go to A and E? I don't know what to do as I've never experienced this yet in my pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know what to think!

Thanks.

Spotting is very common as sometimes the uterus can grow faster than the placenta which can cause bleeding. It could also be from an irritated cervix, a small hematoma/blod clot under the placenta or if you have a low lying placenta this can cause spotting. I would recommened you see your dr though just to be safe but please try not to stress xxxx

Hi alibombali: I have had 2 bleeds in the course of my pregnancy. The first occurred around week 12. I went to the toilet and when I wiped, there was a slight pink/brown blood residue on the toilet paper. It lasted no longer than a day. I went to see the doctor and they told me that it could be just a result of irration of the cervix from sex, and if not, not to panic because many women experience bleeding (some throughout all of pregnancy) and the baby turns out perfectly fine and healthy.

I also had a second bleed and this time it was a bright red colour, but again this lasted no longer than half a day, and the following morning it was a slight residue but no new blood. I made an appointment with the hospital to check that everything was okay. Needless to say my baby is alive and well and the pregnancy is going well. They could find no physical causes for the bleed (cervix was closed, no scarring on the inside vaginal walls).

Bleeding happens, and it is understandable to panic. I did as well. But don't be too alarmed. Of course if you are worried you can see your doctor, but they will tell you basically what I was told, and that is if the bleeding continues or worsens and is combined with period like cramps, that's when you need to be alarmed. Wait to see if the bleeding subsides after a day or so. If it doesn't, make an appointment then. But otherwise you should be fine.

:)

I had spotting a few times too. Just go to your doctor and they will probably get you a scan to make sure everything is okay, it's quite common and I know I was fine so try not to get yourself too worried about it but definitely get it checked out. Good luck x

I had it around 15-16 weeks, and had it at 12 weeks, and about 8 weeks, basically everytime my period was supposed to be here !!! After 16 weeks it's stopped now, thank god cos it worries me so much. As long as it stays pink/brown you should be fine, it's when it turns red you need to go to a&e. Hope everything is okay :flower:

I had it for roughly a week around 12 weeks. Ultrasounds all showed everything was fine. I would get checked just in case though, good luck but pls try not to panic too much :hugs:
