Hi can anyone help?

At my 20 week scan I was told I had Placenta Previa, but it was explained to me that this could probably move however if it does not then a C-section would be needed. At 22 weeks I started bleeding and was admitted to Hosp overnight but it stopped and since have had no further bleeding.

I had another scan at 32 weeks to see if the Placenta had moved, and it had moved 3.1cm from the OS. I was told then that it wasn't enough and it had to be at least 4.2cm away from the OS and to come back for another scan at 36 weeks.

36 weeks it was still only 3.1cm away, but on that day told it was now fine it was far enough and I could deliver naturally? The baby is also on the large size so I am consultant led atm. I was told to come back for another scan to check Placenta.

Today I am 37 weeks and 5 days and had another scan still 3.1cm away from the OS, and I was told it is fine that is far enough. I am confused as initially I was told it had to be 4.2cm away, now this consultant today has said different? I am very worried as after talking to her I have no confidence in her whatsoever. She was keen to put my mind at rest and said if I start bleeding during labour an emergency section would take place, however Im not so sure I want to be put in that scenario. After airing my worries she reluctantly booked me provisionally for a C-section at 39 weeks (even though about an hour before she said c/sections are normally booked in at 38 weeks, when i asked her she said she wouldnt do it until 39 weeks?). When I asked her how many other women has she dealt with who has had this, and what were the outcomes ei- bleeding, emergeny c/section ect she couldn't answer me. I have no confidence at all from having conflicting things said to me.

Can I get a second opinion from another consultant? Has anyone had any experience with this and given birth naturally or via c/section?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

I don't really have any advice but I had placenta previa picked up at my anomaly scan (19+6) I had a follow up scan at 33+6 and my placenta was 4.1cm away from OS. I had a vaginal delivery (emergency forceps). My son never engaged before labour so I wonder if the low placenta affected that.

If you're worried then I'd definitely ask for a second opinion. Good luck xx
