28 weeks today and diagnosed with placenta previa partially covering os :(
Looking for stories from women with experience. More upset as just 4 weeks ago since my last scan and placenta was at a nice high point. Getting rescanned in 3 weeks and have to have a c section was is ok as had to have one anyway due to classical scar from last pregnancy.
Need advice ladies, very worried.

I had that last preg although mine was from the start have yo confess I didn't know it could move back down , Anyway last time I lost a lot of blood and ended up an emergency c-section but everything was fine as they are more aware of these things with a diagnoses so any blood lost head straight to yr hospital best of luck

Hey, I am 28 weeks also and am being rescanned on jan 7th due to placenta completely covering at 20 week scan. Like u I am very worried as I had this in my last pregnancy too. Have u had any bleeding?
They r so aware of this now and are ready should they need to act fast. Just think of those ladies who are not diagnosed at all and r still ok.
I am hoping mine will move but doubtful. They said take a hospital bag when u get rescanned as u may stay in until u deliver!!

No bleeding but had a feeling from beginning something would go wrong :(
Suffer real bad with Braxton hicks so worried about effect of those on cervix too.

I was told by my midwife friend that no bleeding by this stage is really good. Also it has time to move out of the way a little; at least it's not completely covering though. I think it only needs to be 2cm away for you to have the chance of a vaginal birth. Mine was 3cm with my second child and was normal delivery. When are you getting rescanned?
Don worry it can still work out

Victoria x

Sorry just read your first post again about rescan. Ur having section anyway so you will be fine. They're ready xx

I was diagnosed with Placenta Previa at 18 weeks after I was having some bleeding. The placenta completely covered my cervix. Since then I have had a scan every 2 weeks to check blood flow and the position of the placenta. At my last scan my placenta is no longer covering my cervix...its 3 cm above which is still considered low lying, but my doc doesnt think I will need a scheduled c-section. I was told most cases of placenta previa will fix itself before delivery. Good luck!

I had it right from the beginning, covering my cervix completely. but from 20 weeks it started moving up. And now I'm nearly 36 weeks it has completely moved up. Try not to worry as it is still early days. Hopefully as your uterus expands the placenta will also move up. Stay away from google, it freaked me out.
Just look out for any spotting and let your doctor know.

i had a high placenta at 21weeks nd then at 28weeks it was just touching the cervical os. i was scanned this week and it moved all the way back up to the top! i had no bleeding in the pregnancy. best of luck x

My sister got partial placenta previa in her last pregnancy at around 28 weeks. She was SO upset, but about a month or so later, her placenta moved and she was able to deliver vaginally....she had a beautiful baby girl! My first niece! Just take it easy and don't stress too much! Praying for you that it'll move up for you and little one! Good Luck!! <3

I was diagnosed in week 12 with complete previa. In week 21 I had my first bleed and then again 2 days ago at 22+3. Mine is making a marginal move. I want to say that there is a huge chance of it moving being marginal. Hang in there.

A csection is hard I know, but it may be in your best interest. My bleeds have been terrifying, I was hospitalized overnight for the last one. Remember that with previa comes a chance of accreta <3

Its so scarey! Accreta has been mentioned I believe im having a doppler check on blood flow in or around placenta next time? I have a classical scar so its t shape apparantly pus me at more risk of Accreta also.
Thank u all for encouragment :)

Can I just ask those as well is it normal to get a heavy stitch pain coming from placenta? I get this very often, can last upto a min and half just like its cramping and sttching up on me if that makes sense lol

Totally. It happened to me more before a brown bleed though. Hang in there, I know it's not easy. And if you haven't already, there's great support on the Placenta Previa and accreta FB page <3
