Ok... changing gears a bit. OH is unsure of our (my) chosen girl's name... especially after hearing other people's opinions... (OH was unsure to begin with!!) :dohh:

So we are on to "Plan B" -- lol

We both love the name Ava -- i'm just worried it's way too common  I know in the US it's been in the "Top 10" for a few years now -- But i really don't know too many Ava's -- Do you??

To avoid her being called "Ava B." if there are other Ava's in her class -- i thought maybe a longer version (nn. Ava) or a double-barelled first name?

Here are some ideas we've been playing with:

Aviana Sophia Rose (nn. "Ava")
Avery Sophia Rose (nn. "Ava")
Ava Lilliana Sophia (nn. "Ava Lily") (Ava as 1st name & Lilliana Sophia as 2 middle names)
Ava Lily Sophia ("Ava Lily" as 1st name & Sophia as middle name)
Ava Bella Sophia ("Ava Bella" as 1st name & Sophia as middle name)

OH's surname starts with a "B" & is 2-syllables

Would love to hear thoughts & opinions -- Also curious if the name Ava is popular where you live? :flower:

Ava's a beautiful name and I only know of one x

hhmmm i dont know which one i like because they are all pretty!
Ava is very popular here in the UK, i know of three avas personally then theres been i think 3 or four celebs recently calling thier little girls ava.
sorry not been much use, i do agree on you with not wanting my little one being know for their surname or initials though, you spend so long deciding the perfect name for them that its personal so you want them to be known for their name and not becuase so many others have been called that that they have to be called for example Lily Anderson when you want them to be called just Lily.
like you i am on a mission to find names that are uniquely pretty that no one else that you knwo of has thought of or used. xx

I think that's smart of have a second/middle name in case there are other kids in the class with the same name. I've only known one Ava (and I used to be a preschool teacher so I saw a lot of kids). I had a pretty popular name in school "Abbie" so if there were others in my class they would just refer to as by our name and first initial of our last name.

I vote for Ava Lilliana, I think it has a nice flow.

Hi.
I agree that having a name which other children in the same class have is rubbish. I was one of five Hannah's at school!
I dont know any Ava's personally, but i know its quite popular in the UK at the moment.
Anyways, I like Ava-Lily as a first name.
Let us know what you decide!
xx

Ava Lily Rose is my favourite .. Gorgeous! :flower:

Although I personally prefer Eva Lily Rose. I tried to convince OH of the name but he was having none of it! :(

Eva is very pretty! But OH isn't fond! Thanks for the suggestion! :hugs:

I think Aviana Sophia Rose is gorgeous (I like Emersyn too, though!!)

I only know of one Ava!

I voted for Aviana Sophia Rose - it's just lovely.

and yes I know a couple of little Ava's here in the UK.

I know of 4 little girls named Ava (my niece included).
Out of your choices above I chose: Avery Sophia Rose, and would call her Avery instead of Ava.
