Playing music to your bump?

Hi Ladies,

Just wondered how many of you do this and what you like to play? Does the bub have a preference and is it yours?

Cant wait to start playing music to my bump, Im only 13 weeks 6 days but roll on the weeks! Hubby insists baby will have to listen to drum and base aswell as anything cheesey I will play. I think any music either you or partner choose the baby will love, maybe baby's movement will let you know what he/she prefers? Have fun trying!

I read in one of my books that there is research to show listening to classical in the womb is more likely to make your baby excel in sports! How weird is that!

I don't really play anything though.. I prefer to listen to the music myself and sing along.. poor baby has to get used to my wailing song at some point

yeah- i just sing and listen to my own tunes- which is sometimes classical but not all the time. it's mostly folk music that i listen to with the kids.
with my last baby i was pretty sure he was deaf- bc he didn't ever react to the sudden loudness around me like the other babies. he was the only one i purposely played music for. i'd find a song that had a really nice and strong bassline in the car- when he and i would go for a ride on our own- and i'd turn the bass WAY up and let my thigh rest along the driver's side door so that the vibrations would work through my body to him. fond memories.

So far bubs has only heard Guns N Roses (mainly because I only play music to get it moving). The funny thing is, GNR has not done the trick!

I listen to music while driving and sing. DH and I also talk to my bump quite a bit.

Bit of Oasis never fails to get him wiggling. I think if I sang to him though, he'd bury himself away and never come out I'm def not X Factor material

I work in radio so I listen to the radio a lot. So technically I guess I'm playing music for him. Hasn't really got him moving though.

My bub lets me know what he likes. He's into Funk mainly which is not really my thing. He hates drum and bass/house or anything too heavy. I'm wondering if he'll come out wearing flared trousers and dancing lol
