Hi, I am new here and was hoping someone might have some insight. I am 32 and I have a 15 yr old and a 12 yr old. My husband is 32 also and has really high count, but mildly low motility and morphology. We have been trying for 4 years for number 3 post vasectomy reversal. I had stage 3 endometriosis, my current gyno thinks it has been there for a few years. I had lap surgery on May 12th to remove a 7cm endometrioma and several lesions and part of my left ovary. My right was deemed good. I then did my first cycle of IVF beginning on June 13th. They did egg retrieval last Sat and they were supposed to do egg transfer today (after 5day balstocyst). They had retreived 5 eggs from my right ovary (myleft did not produce), but the eggs turned out not to be mature enough for fertilization. Could this be because I did the IVF so close to lap endo surgery? My RE, who is Italian (we are military overseas) said we could wait a cycle and try again around Sept. with a different protocol. Would it be beneficial to try naturally or does IVF seem to be our only option? I have an appt with my reg gyno that did the surg in 2 wks, just want a little pep talk or downright truth! Thanks for your time and God Bless!

I didnt want to run and leave you as i think im best to give you the answers to your questions. I am sorry for your failed IVF, i had my 1st in May and yesterday they confirmed i had a missed miscarriage. I have grade 4 severe and aggressive endo. My endo grows back within months of removal. I grew a 4cm cyst in 2 months after surgery. I have no choice but IVF but if yours its no aggressive you still might have a chance while waiting for IVF. I am 27 and have had endo for a year and its only uncontrolled for 6 months.

Please have a read through my journal, it will help allot. I have bad eggs as well. They retrieved 5 eggs from 10 follicles and 4 were immature just like yours and one was perfect. Here is the bad news, there is nothing you can do for bad eggs! Im sorry to be so blunt but we need the truth. I have been labellled with bad eggs. The only thing we can do is keep trying with IVF and maybe on a higher stimming drugs. What were you on? what dosage was it?

Having the lap and then IVF is a good idea, it will not effect egg quality but help with a pregnancy as the endo toxins have been removed. Ok with the surgery was the cyst removed or drained? if it was removed they would have also taken some egg reserves with it as well. Im sure you would have been told this when having your surgery. Another thing you can discuss with the gyno is going on a course of zoladex, its like being downregulating drug and it helps to remove any scar tissue left that surgeons couldnt remove. Its meant to also help with better IVF results. This in my opinion is better than having surgey!!!

Hun my fertility specialists said having endo affects all part of fertility, but i no of so many positive stories that ladies after a few attempts they are finally pregnant and given birth to healthy babies. Its just going to take time for us. Please get all the info you need, as me any questions and ill try to support you.

Hope to talk to you soon.

Hi there

I don't have the answers you're looking for, but certainly Dilek seems to be having similar experiences to you *unfortunately for you both*. I really hope you are successful with your next cycle, and you get your :bfp: very soon.

good luck
