I have had three miscarriages. The first was at around 8 weeks. It was like we saw the heartbeat of the baby and it then stopped. The tests mentioned that i was in the brim of thyroid problem and also the rage for lupus anti coagulant was on the brim. So doctor suggested us to have aspirin for the next time.
For the second pregnancy, we lost the baby at 15 weeks. This time we were particular to check for APTT(lupus) and thyroid & the results came normal. So doctor didn't suggest any aspirin. I was spotting for this pregnancy which the doctor told is not a problem. But this time my fluid broke , cervix got opened and led to preterm labour. All the tests like pathology, chromosome test etc were done to find the cause of the issue. But nothing came wrong with those tests. Doctors weren't sure if the amniotic fluids broke first which led to the dilation of cervix or if the cervix opened first due to which the fluids got broke. Again the cause of the issue still remained a mystery.
For the third time, we thought we should check the possibility of cervix incompetency. So we were consulting a high risk doctor this time and he was checking for the cervix length from 12 weeks. At 12 weeks, it measured pretty normal(40mm). Then we checked again at 14 weeks and it was normal (44mm). So the doctor told we would check the length every 2 weeks till 24 weeks. This time, I was not having any spotting issues except for once or twice. So I was happy and thought there won't any issue with this pregnancy. The urine was also being checked for any possibility of infection. This time also, APTT was normal. But the thyroid issue was there for which I was having medicine. But in 16 weeks, the same issue happened like my previous loss. But when they checked for the cervix length after the water broke, they told like it is long and ok. I asked for any chances for my baby to survive. But the doctor told that the baby is viable only after 24 weeks and that the umbilical cord has come to my vagina which could also cause infection to my baby. I asked if this could have been prevented if the cerclage was done earlier. The doctor told that cerclage will not prevent the membrane from breaking.
Now i am very much confused with this situation and terrified that this can happen again. Anyone with similar experience, please share any help on what all should be taken care next time for a hope.
Thanks in advance.
