I'm currently down-regging on my second FET cycle. I'm breaking out in hives from mid afternoon, getting worse as the day goes on and disappears overnight.

Looking back, itching started maybe as far back as my first Ivf cycle, and has got worse with each cycle, with actual hives appearing every day now and getting worse. I've called the clinic and they've switched me from Buserelin to a new drug Cetrotide(?) which I've been on for two days now but still no respite

Does anyone else have experience of this? I'm obviously very worried as it's my immune system releasing histamines an I'm really worried that it might impact on embryo implantation :(

I would call your clinic again and let them know what's going on!

I am going through the same thing! It started in the middle of my last cycle and is now worse 2 months later. I went to my family doctor about it and she just gave me some zinc cream which did not help at all. Know that I know I am not crazy for thinking the two are connected I will ask my RE on Monday when I go for my ultrasound.

I know this might sound odd but try taking some vit D. I had hives last year and it turned out it was triggered by stress. My doc did a test and I was below the minimums. It helps your body deal with stress I guess. I had to be on reactin for two weeks til I knew my levels were at 0. Once I started taking 4000mg day the hives & rash went away. There are a number of skin problems related to vit d deficiency.

Thanks for all your replies, I'm so glad I'm finding people with experience of this. I did call my clinic today, but we're on Sat, and clinic is closed until Tuesday because of public holiday :( I did an acupuncture session this morning and she suggested that there was 'heat' in my blood, which means cooling foods and stuff to tonify the liver.

MissAnnabelle - My first fresh cycle was successful, but I remember having itchy underarms and then I can't remember if they got better during pregnancy or whether I just lived with itchy underarms for a while. During my first FET cycle earlier this year, the itching got quite bad. But I still didn't link the two. It's only during this cycle that the hives have appeared. They started on my underarms where the bra side touched my skin, then spread to where the pressure was - so bra strap areas. Then I started getting hives further away, and now, two weeks later, they've spread to my tummy, inside of my legs, my back, my forearms, and yesterday, my hands, fingers and neck. The funny thing is that they disappear by morning, and then only starts again from mid afternoon, getting worse as the day progresses. What are your experiences?

I'm really worried obviously as in my head I'm linking hives to immune system going on overdrive and if so, even if my embies implanted when I have them put back, my body might fight them?

2have4kids - thanks for the link - will look it up - Vit D deficiency is one of my worries too...
Sorry for the long post...

2have - thanks for the info I will check into it :)

Peartree - I also have itchy underarms, but the hives are on my face. It seems like it is almost gone in the morning when I get up and gets worse as the day goes on.

Right now - lupron, prenatle and 81mg aspirin. Yesterday was my last bcp. Last cycle when it started in July it was during my stims - follistim and sol.x

Hiya - did you have a word with your RE at your ultrasound?

I went in for my lining scan today, and nurse said to stop the injecting, just to continue with the oestrogen tablets. I have to call them back on Monday to give them an update. The consultant isn't too concerned about the hives affecting transfer, just wanted to stop for my comfort, in case it is the drugs causing it.

Went to see GP today and he's prescribed me high strength antihistamines. I've taken one today to relieve discomfort. Nurse at fertility clinic said that it's ok to take antihistamines up til embie transfer. Can't wait til my babies go back inside on Tue.. :)

No, I didn't. They found a large cyst on my right ovary and I had to have it surgically drained. I have been having a hard time talkiing to my doctor, so I am just going to forget it. It seems like when I first started the lupron it was at it's worst and now it's not that bad, so I am just going to keep going. They were mildish to begin with plus I have really sensitive skin. I had a rash for a couple of days from where they put a bandaid on my arm, so maybe I am just extra sensitive during all of this? So, I guess it would be safe if I started taking a over the counter antihistimine? Oh lord - just give us a baby already ;)
