Please help me, Breast Ultrasound found CLUSTERS NEED BIOPSY

Hi ladies I am almost 20 weeks pregnant. I had some pain in my breast so my doctor was doing routine breast exams on me at every visit. She never felt anything other than really dense breasts. However I had a 4 month follow up on a benign fibroid in my breast today and the radiologist came in and told me that pregnancy changes the breast so much they dont know what they are looking at but that they need a biopsy done on both breasts. Since my ultrasound four months ago my left breast has these clusters and to be on the safe side they want to know what they are. They do not want to do a mammo because of hte baby. I am so scared!!! I keep thinking about my two year old daughter I don't know what to do. Has anyone gone through this?

I'm sorry you are going through this. But please remember your ducts are growing and changing and the chances of it being anything scary are very very slim!!! Try to relax and stay calm for baby!!!! The fact that your previous cyst was benign is a great thing!!! Stay off Google and just try to relax!!!

Ask your doctors many questions before undergoing possibly harmful procedures. Research the wcs and see what treatment would be in pregnancy. If they need to wait until baby is here, then you might as well hold of now & have all work done after delivery.
Ask how familiar the radiologist is with examining pregnant women. How much is known fr breast & duct changes in the pregnant woman? Can a benign suddenly turn bad in pregnancy? Its likely compressed, which causes pain? Etc... Make sure you are satisfied with the answers. Ask what the most likely cause of the discomfort is...

I just completed my 4 month follow up on a benign fibroadenoma ( fibroid) I underwent a breast ultrasound and then another 4 months later. There was no progress in mine despite pregnancy and I was dismissed after that. I wouldn't panic however if they say to do a biopsy I definitely would. No I wouldn't wait until baby is here, do it now it doesn't affect the pregnancy in the slightest. Remember, 80 % of biopsies are benign so the odds are highly in your favour. They are just being cautious. Also, the fact that it's in both breasts is very reassuring. Don't panic they are just covering all bases. I too stressed for months about this dumb fibroid and even begged for a biopsy to be safe so it's a good thing they are ruling it all out xx

Thank you ladies, I am going for my biopsy today I am scared to death. I couldn't sleep the entire night thinking of my two year old daugther my baby in me and what I would do if breast cancer was truly the case. I am so scared. Please pray for me.
