Hi ladies,
So here is a bit of info. I have only been 'actively trying' for 6 mths but haven't used any form of protection or contraception for two and a half years.
It's just not happening for us.
I conceived my boys naturally within 2-3 mths of trying.
I'm stumped as to why it isn't happening now.
I'm 20 kg overweight, would that be a major factor in not being able to concieve?
What do I ask my Dr?
Please help me I'm in tears writing this I just don't know what to do.

Hi! Sorry you're going through this. I know that they saying being over weight can cause it to be harder to get pregnant, but I've also seen overweight people get pregnant so not too sure how big of a deal it is.

We're your first two children conceived with the same partner you're trying with now? That could be a factor. But I would definitely make a doctors appointment. Let them know your situation. They will do some testing. They will probably start with blood work and also ask your partner for a sperm analysis. In my opinion you've been trying to 2 years because I don't believe in the ntnp-in my opinion if you're aren't preventing then you're trying. Let us know what happens.

I am in a similar situation. I am also ttc #3. Being overweight isn't a problem. Sometimes the thing that causes women to be overweight (i.e. low thyroid, PCOS) is the same thing that causes infertility. One is just an outward sign of the other. Does that make since? I have a long story that I will spare you with for now, but I was able to have my boys because I took a ton of vitamins, low carb dieted, and exercised more. I forgot how to do all of that so now I am starting over. lol. (I also have a new husband) Let us encourage each other. I believe we can do it!

sorry, yes weight can be a factor..you may want to get ur sugar tested and your thyriod tested as t5hese go with weight problems and can cause lots of infertility problems as well......talk to ur doc about it and good luck...

sorry your having such a hard time

Hi sweetie, weight may be a factor but I don't know that 20 kilos is all that much (might depend on bmi?). But I would definitely say you and your partner should get checked out. Just tell the Dr. that you are having troubles conceiving and s/he will know what to do. Even if it's the same partner as before things could have changed. It might just be stress, too. Don't fret! Something will work out! xo

Hi ladies,
Thanks for your reply.
Yep same daddy as my two children. I should be 65 kg but I'm 85kg at the moment. I suspect that I have an underactive thyroid ( my mum has it and I also had thyroid issues in both my pregnancies )
I know I have nodules in my thyroid so I'm not sure if that effects anything. Will try see if I can get into the Dr on Monday. I'm really scared that they will tell me something is wrong :-( My cycles also vary between 28-35 days generally they are around 31-32 days.
