Hi all,

I have had 5 miscarriages in 3 years and next cycle will be TTC for pregnancy 6.

Still don't have a baby to hold and I am sooo nervous about trying again..

Any advice on what I could do for a better chance?

Thanks
angels

Have you been working with a doctor to improve your chances of a successful pregnancy? I'm so sorry for your losses, and wish you all the luck in the world.

Hi sorry about your losses, seeing a doctor for tests if you haven't already.. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for. Please keep me updated :hugs:
I hope things work out for you and you get your take home baby xo

Hi Angels,

First, I'm so sorry for your losses. I'm glad you've landed here. What have you already started doing? I'm sure lots of people will jump in with advice.

Also, definitely see your doctor for more tests. There are many things you can do to improve your chances when you know what the issue is. Best of luck to you!

Thanks so much!

I've had the following tests done from memory:
PCOS
Thyroid
Blood clotting
Chromosomal
Hormone tests - prog, estrogen etc
Celiac disease
3D examinations
Diabetes
Iodine
Vitamins B, D etc.

So far it seems I have borderline PCOS but they don't seem worried as I can fall pregnant quickly.

The thyroid tests came back normal, but within that they found it was a bit sluggish.

Everything else came back fine! Although, my progesterone seemed a bit low, so they put me on pessaries

The doctor wants me to take metformin when I fall pregnant again (not while I am TTC) and I will once again be on baby aspirin and most likely the progesterone pessaries.

I decided to go a more natural approach to prepare for this one so I have been having acupuncture and have been taking herbs.

If anyone has any other suggestions or advice it would be appreciated.

Thanks
angels

Hey, I saw your post and just wanted to cry. I had 1 miscarriage almost a year ago and am still trying that was seriously one of the worst things that's happened to me, I can't imagine 5. My advise is go for tests, I am sure you are entitled on the NHS, after 3 miscarriages they have to investigate why your pregnancies aren't going to term; obviously you can get pregnant so your problem is not fertility (which is good in a way) it's just holding on to the pregnancy. My sis has had 4 miscarriages, she is now 2 months pregnant and has a one year old, doctors told her is wold be hard for her body to carry a baby to term (some hormone/chromosomal issue), but she just kept trying hoping one "would stick" obviously it did. Stress might also be an issue, look into some alternative medicines maybe acupuncture or homeopathy? look after yourself xxxx

Thankyou...sorry for your loss too...it is seriously the worst thing ever :(

Yes I have had tests (as mentioned above), but I wasn't sure what else they can test for...

I started acupuncture around 6 months ago so hopefully that will help. They are treating me for fertility and for anxiety and stress so praying that it works!!

Sound like you are well on top of it, which is really good - you are confronting the problem. Good luck with the acupuncture I hope you are blessed with a baby soon :)

Just out of interest, does anyone know of anymore tests I can have?

Thanks
Angels
