Hi

I wanted to share a recent experience with you all. And give you all the encouragement to question your dr, clinics and try to read and understand your body!

I have endometriosis and after my 1st IVF ended in mc, I needed to go back on hormone therapy ASAP to stop my periods. There are 2 hormone drugs available and I was on Zoladex just before my IVF, however my clinic this time wanted me to be on the other drug. I have read many ladies experiences that some times the different drug didnt work or resulted in more side effects. As I was happy with Zoladex's side effects and also that it works with my endo I questioned why the clinic wanted to switch drugs!

Now I argued with them for an over and refused the drug. One dr told me there is no difference and compared the drugs to sainsburys milk to tesco milk. Ahh i could kill her for that :growlmad:. Finally I got my way and was back on Zoladex.

The next month i noticed i was having ovary pain, the drug should have settled my ovaries and i should have no pain. I went back to the clinic to get my next monthloy dosage and i complained about the pain. They didnt want to hear about it and i sat there and argued again. I demanded for a scan, especially since I havnt had one since my d&c. They wouldnt scan me even though i was in a scanning room with Drs that do scans. After more tears and almost abusing the Dr, they agreed to scan me the following week. I argued for over an hour and I swear something came over me not to give up.

OK So I had the scan done with a synographer and I have a huge dermoid cyst. Which totally contradicts the clinic who said it was an endo cyst. This is a big problem as these cyts will not go away with my monthly hormone injections. The following week I had my consultation with my fertility specialists and he requested an urgent MRI Scan.

MRI Scan shows I have not 1 but 2 dermoid cysts and I need to have surgery ASAP.

Moral of the story, if i had shut up and listened to the clinic I would be having my monthly hormone injections and assuming everything is fine. And we would all get a damn shock on the down regulation scan in late nov when they would have found the cysts. I am so grateful I demanded Zoladex as I would have assumed the pain to be normal but with Zoladex i knew something was wrong!

This Dr i have argued with me kept saying I am a Dr, I know you have endometriosis and everything is OK... I responded ! How do you KNOW? How do you know whats happening inside if you dont do a SCAN????? YOUR NOT GOD!!!!

Get things checked up and dont stop until you believe it!
