Please reassure me about my baby's size/eating

aw he is gorgeous dont let ppl get to you,

i get exactly the same comments!! i have a chubby baby boy as well he is 5 and half months and ive stopped weighing him but he has 4x7oz bottles and a bit of puree a day so i know he isnt overfed but ppl always comment on how big he is at 1st it really pissed me of but i like having a good solid little boy and i just turn around and say yup he is a bruiser, take no notice i know it can be upsetting but he is healthy and growing and doing fine xxx

I wouldn't worry too much hun, Mia was born 5 pound 8 oz at full term and we are constantly getting comments about how tiny she is. She's now 3 months old and only around 11 pounds and people STILL say how tiny she is and sometimes mistake her for a baby that's 6 weeks old. The most important thing is that they are happy and healthy and that the doctor agrees on that when they get their check ups. Our doc was a little worried for the first few weeks as they expected Mia to play "catch up" which they often see from babies that are born tiny and even now that I've put her on formula she hasn't done that so I've given up worrying myself silly.

Your baby is beautiful and I'm sure is very loved and that is the most important thing!! xxoo

Sadly this is something you just have to get used to :nope: People will ALWAYS comment on something, be it baby's weight/size, how many teeth they have (or don't have!), the hair they have (or don't have!) etc etc. Doesn't make it less annoying to know that it'll happen, but at least you can maybe prepare yourself! Think up some nice retorts which will hopefully get your point across that they are being offensive (usually without them meaning it!) :)

I have the opposite problem. Romilly wasn't premature or anything, but she's just always been small. At 8 1/2 months she was 15lbs 7oz, which is nearly at the 9th centile. She's had a stiff climb up from being off the bottom of the charts a few months ago. She's mainly in 3-6 months clothes still too. I've just had to learn to brush the comments off! (Except when they're from my HV, and for some reason she gets to me :dohh:)

Your baby looks gorgeous and healthy, and sounds like he is growing perfectly, so try and not let people get to you :hugs:

oh hun i know how you feel, its def hard to ignore peoples comments sometimes.

your LO is gorgeous :hugs:

Leo was born 10lb 4 ozs and wasnt overly big everyone was like OMG when they heard his weight but when they saw him was like OMG hes tiny :dohh:. but at the hospital he was like an exhibit with the staff which really annoyed me and were always getting comments some nasty some nice.
I am a big girl too.
It really can get you down at times and i can say i have .
Leo now weighs over 20lb and hes 20 weeks old on friday.
Dr and HV are not worried.
He takes 5/6 7oz bottles of hungrier baby formula a day and isnt on solids as of yet and hes just starting to grow out of his 3-6mth clothes

People can be very cruel
