pointless hospital appointment

well hello all

cannot belive me and jen went for this hospital appointment today at half 11 and when we got there she got her letter she had from them and then passed it over...someone then came and took a urine test and also blood pressure and asked jen if she knew why she was here...obviously we didnt have a clue why as she just got a letter saying that she needed to attend today

so theres me and her pannicing thinking there was something wrong and the woman who took the stuff didnt really advise why we were there...then we got called into a room for gynocology and i was thinking ...WHAT...

then the male doctor said he didnt know why we were there nether

so he filled in a few notes and then he listened to babys heartbeat which he found straight away

then just sent us back home


how pointless...it was her midwife who advised we would recive a letter from hospital about an appointment...i think we really need a chat as she has not been the best at the moment and even through jens last pregnancy..its not good

oh well....waste of an hour but still got to hear a heartbeat so all in all it wasnt too bad

My MW says if it sounds like a ‘steam train chugging’ it's
If it's dead quick like a ‘horse galloping’ its

Well glad all is well and I think you do need to have a 'chat' with your MW and tell her she needs to practise her communicating skills.

Can I ask how far gone is your LO?

we are at 14 +4 at the moment....sounds like a girl if u put it like that!

Sometimes they're crap. I went in with pains when I was 20 something weeks and all this doctor did was prod my bump and say 'you appear to be in some kind of discomfort'

I was like really? No shit sherlock.....

I have had the crappest experiences with mws too. Noone explains anything to me or tells me why they're doing it. I think they all think i'm too young and dumb. Its really pissing annoying! I haven't been weighed or measured, my scan was crap the technician was really abrupt, they messed up all my bloods, and i see a different mw every time i go. I just feel like i'm a sheep being herded around and that noone cares about me because i'm that bit younger. Grrr...
Sorry not much help just thought i'd join in the rant!lol oh and btw my lil girls heartbeat definitely sounds like a horse galloping i love hearing it. I grin like a complete moron!..xx

i would make an appointment with your midwife and ask her why you had the hospital appointment, the good thing is you got to hear the heartbeat I had the same problem with my midwife for my last pregnancy had the start of this one, she was rubbish, never actually came and saw me herself, always people on call so in the end i swapped her and complained to the community midwives about her, she didnt want me to have an early scan even though i miscarried last time. you should definately speak to her baout the service your gettin though xxx
