Taking a poll to see if anyone got pregnant as a result of an iui?

I did. We did two iui's. The second one worked for us. Had been trying for almost three years. Got pregnant the first month I took clomid and got a trigger shot (about a year and half after we started trying) but sadly miscarried that pregnancy. Thought we had finally found the magic formula to get pregnant. Unfortunately it didn't work again.

We were on the waiting list for IVF and decided to try a few iui's while we waited. We were extremely happy that the second iui worked for us and we didn't need to move on to ivf.

Are you considering iui??

We had two failed IUIs, but I later got pregnant on a plain old Clomid cycle without the IUI.

I am getting ready to see fertility specialist and trying to get informed. I've read that iui's chance of working is same likelyhood of just having intercourse. And I don't know anyone who had it work ! So I figured this was the place to look!

Iui #2 worked for us:) I was on Femara, Progynova(for lining issues), Ovitrelle shot(trigger) and I had 1 shot of Menopur! We were ttc for almost 3 years and it finally happened! I'm only 6w4d, still early days, but fx for a healthy baby. I remember planning my next iui as my fs likes to do 3 iui's. I was so sure it would be bfn as I had a bfn at 11dpo, but beta at 15dpo was positive. Iui can and does work! I've read some get a bfp on their 6th/7th or even 8th iui and the lucky ones on the 1st try. Good luck on your journey to getting your bfp, I hope its short lived & you get a bfp 1st try!

How did you react with the Femara?

Our journey is in my sig line. They didn't work for us but I know they can be helpful in avoiding ivf for some when mfi is an issue

I agree with this. I think their main benefit is for those with mfi, which wasn't our issue. One IUI procedure was "only" $350 for us vs. the high cost of IVF so it was worth a try.

MFI was not an issue for us and IUI worked on the second try. You never know what might end up working. Unexplained infertility is a mystery. That is why it is so frustrating. You don't know what the problem is so it is really just a guessing game.

With the second IUI we used Femera and had a trigger shot 36 hours prior to the IUI. The first IUI we also used Femera but we had the trigger shot 24 hours before the IUI. I never had any issues with side effects when taking either Clomid or Femera. They both seemed to affect the follicles in a similar way. Lots of people have more negative side effects with Clomid (like reduced CM and thinner lining) but I never had that happen. We switched to Femera because they don't recommend taking Clomid for extended periods of time. I had taken it about 7 times over the course of a year. I also took Progesterone supplements in the second half of my cycle. (From ovulation to CD1).

How did you react with the Femara?

Femara was ok, no side effects really for me! Had a bit of cramps, but was told it was my ovaries growing. Other than that, it was ok. Iui has to be timed correctly! My successful iui I had ovulated the day before iui. I took trigger & menopur shot on the same day as ovulation, the trigger didn't delay ovulation coz my lh had already surged(confirmed by blood work). I took trigger at 1pm and iui was 20 hours later. I ovulated sometime between the trigger and midnight. I was concerned that it wouldn't work but I was proven wrong!
