I have a glucose test for Gestational diabetes booked in on wednesday 24th march, as my fundal measurements were 36cm at 32 weeks, and now 38cm at 34 weeks. I had a growth scan on friday, and my AFI (amniotic fluid index) is 24cm at 34 weeks.... so I have polyhydramnios. My baby is also measuring big for dates too. EFW: 3206g @ 34 weeks (7.1lb).

I am so scared, i know i shouldnt have, but I googled this, and now i am petrified of there being something terrible wrong with the baby.... kidney problems, downs etc etc....

can anyone offer any reassurance? this is my first baby so i have no previous pregnancy experiuence, this is making my life a misery at the moment.... I cant stop worrying about this.....

I had polyhydramnious and measured ahead. I was tested fof GD but was negative. I googled alot and really wish I hadn't!
But I gave birth to a healthy baby at 37+5. It's possible you may not make it to 40weeks as they run out of room. I'm guessing you are receiving regular monitoring now they have picked up the poly? We had extra scans and weekly fetal heart monitoring.

Hope all goes well for you, pm me if you want to. I'd type more but I have a wriggly baby under one arm lol
xx

Hi I was tested twice for GD and was negative. I also had polyhydromisis (sp) and baby apparently measured big, so with these and other problems (meds i was on) i was induced a week early, he came out a long little skinny thing at 7lbs 9oz and it was his length all curled up that had made me look so big.
