My baby girl is 6 weeks old, and I just switched her to soy. She also has colic and I give her those gas drops, anyways she has been having solid stools that are formed and not loose like i heard babys should be. Is this because of the formula or because she is possibly constipated, and what can I do to fix this?

I would say its because she's constipated. Don't know much about Soy milk - have you looked on the formula website? they might be able to answer your question...A drink of cooled boiled water might help her to pass stools more easily..

My baby is on soy formula and has had 'formed' poos since she started on it. She poos about once a day and it is never runny or very soft. I offer her water before every feed as I think this helps. She never seems bothered or in any pain and she passes enough wind for hundreds of babies so she is not constipated .

Just make sure your baby is not in and discomfort, offer her cooled boiled water several times a day and if she is in any pain I would say take her to G.P.

Soy formula is known to cause harder poos than regular formula.

:)

okay thats good info :) knowing that the soy can cause the harder poos. when i was breast feeding before i ran out anyways it was way softer lol.. thanks everyone:)
