Popping over from ttc, how long before ov did you dtd?

Hi ladies.

I'm just popping over from ttc. Just wondered those of you who know, the cycle you got you'd bfp when did you dtd in relation to ovulation? Was it one day before, 2 days before, on the day?

We dtd the day of ovulation and every other day before it for nearly a week.

We dtd three days ago and two days ago and believe I ovulated yesterday or today from positive opks and ovulation pains. Last cycle we dtd on the day of my ovulation pains and no luck so hoping before might be better.

Iv done a lot of reading and most say that before your positive opk and actual ovulation is higher chance of getting pregnant x

Dtd between 6 - 18 hrs before O - not planned in advance just a lucky one time event.

DTD 3 days before O and then twice the day before O, once in the am and then again in pm. Didnt plan it that way, just happened.

We dtd just once 5 days before O and once on the day of O. I think we did it right around the exact time I was ovulating if not a couple hours after...and that was our "taking a break" month. We had been dtd every other day of every cycle for 14 months and never got a bfp.

I have no idea i didnt know i had started ovulating again.
I noticed between 14-17th feb was increased mucus.

Last pregnancy we dtd on friday got positive ovulation test following monday then bfp 2 weeks later. Good luck x

Wow thanks for all your replies ladies. Lots of ladies getting pregnant with dtd before ovulation. I never knew that sperm takes around 12 hours to mature to having sex before ovulation is better x

We DTD 3 days before a twice on the day of OV x

I ovulated on 11th February (110% certain), we dtd on 8th, 10th and 12th. X

I read that DTD every other day from the day you finish your period until OV day is the standard way to do it. But IMO as long as it's every few days (as I feel it's almost forced and not "fun" baby making otherwise)
Sperm can love for 5 days up there apparently!!

Wow by sounds of it me a hubby dtd on the right days. Might try jump him tonight too. Although I'm certain iv already ovulated. I tried last night but he was having none of it after having it two days in a row. He normally only wants it once a week so twice in a row was more than usual haha

At the moment were not trying not preventing (not in my mind) so we just dtd as and when we feel like it but I still look to see if we're in with a chance so hoping this cycle we have times it right. Hubby doesn't want us to get consumed with trying and just wants to let nature take it's course as it where x

DTD as close as possible to O works for me. 1st preg - was BD night before O. 2nd preg - day before O, and this preg - a few hours after O.

I read that having sex before ovulation is best as sperm takes 12 hours to mature and the egg only lasts for so long. I know every woman is different though, I read that having sperm already waiting for the egg is best but who knows

We dtd two days in a row and then skipped a day and dtd on O day.

I ovulated on the Sunday and we dtd - mon, tue, wed, Friday, sat & Sunday.
Last time I got bfp we dtd everyday leading up to ovulation, day of ovulation & day after.
Both times we got pregnant straightaway xxx
