poppy?

Hey im just wondering, is the name poppy becoming quite popular?i really like it,ive got a little girl called scarlett and think if this ones a girl to the scarlett and poppy go quite well together....or molly?
before i fell pregnant again we always said if we had another girl we would have another colour name ie
ruby,amber or sienna but not so sure now,
any opinons pleases thankyou
oo btw im only 9weeks so i have lots of time yet but i do like to be organised lol

i like the name Poppy. i think of a bright, happy little girl when i think of Poppy
but i also adore Sienna and Ruby. very pretty names!

Poppy is very cute!!! I also love Ruby and Sienna!!! I am not sure how popular they are these days, but if you love it, go for it..trends change and even if you pick a not-so-popular name now, it might come up on the lists in a few months..this happened with the name of our DD1 but it doesn't bug me too much these days anymore. Hey, if a name is popular, atleast it means your taste in names is darn good

Thank you ladies, i found it soo easy picking dd1;s name but this time im being so undecisive but i guess at least i have a list of ones that i love and if i really cant decide while im pregnant hopefully(if its a girl)she will look like one of the names above and make it easy to decide hehe,were having elsie as the middle name if its a girl as well,as with dd1 we alway said if she was born on nov 22nd and a girl we would have jessie as a middle name which is my dh great nans name and birthday,well scarlett turned up on the 23rd but only 1 1/2 hours after the 22nd,and this time out edd is 19th jan but my great nans called elsie and born on 25th of jan so will be strange if it happens really close to that date again....sorry i sort of just rambled on there thanks again xx

My daughter is called Poppy so obviously I think its a beautiful name lol! I don't think it is overdone at all....I can think of loads of names that are more popular (Grace, Ava, Isabelle, Olivia......all lovely names too just very very popular!)

Well on this site i have seen Poppy used quite a bit! In the US, where i live, though... i have never heard of a little girl named Poppy. If i heard someone say, "Here comes Poppy..." I would think they meant their Dad or Grandpa, since people call their dads & grandpas: Pop, Poppy, Poppa, etc...

I love Molly & Ruby -- and Amber & Sienna are pretty too! Love the name Scarlet, by the way!

How about Saige or Violet?? Also love these names!

I agree with what MommyTammy said. Poppy isn't at all popular in the states, in fact she'd probably be bullied, teased and tormented because of it. It reminds me of an old man or a poppy seed.

It would make a cute nickname though (in the states at least). I just find it hard thinking of an adult with the name Poppy and taking her seriously...it would be hard...but then again, I'm in the USA and overseas naming is so different.

I've never liked Molly as much, but I think that stems from all the 'Mollys' i've ever known being unattractive, I have the same issue with Francesca.
