my 1st lilly was positioned down the right hand side of my tummy the whole of my pregnancy she never ventured to the left she just stayed put she also never engaged = my labour was long and all in my back my waters didnt break by them selfs and at fully dilated pushing for 2 hours with no sign of a baby a consultant moved her head from the right side of my pelvis and hello we have a baby back to back !

this preg my lo is also down my right side and has never ventured any where else just there im slighlty worried this will all happen again

i dont no what it is with my right side maybe comfier than my left lol x

Positioning can defiantly effect labor, something i learned in hindsight. My son was son was super low, but his head was badly positioned. So my cervix couldn't dilate, there was too much pressure. I spent a good 4 hours with 5 minute long contractions that where trying to get him out of my pelvis so he get in a better position. I didn't know that then, so transferred and ended up with a c-section. Turns out an epidural and piticin were not the best things for my situation.

Check out spinningbabies.com. There are loads of suggestions on how to get your baby to a good position for birth. Swimming helps as well.

i agree!

my lo was presenting face first, when they felt around they could feel his lips and nose coming out 1st, very rare is this!. it was a close call as it nearly ended in a section.

it effected labour in that ihad to be induced at42 weeks, it also doubled the intensity of the pain due to the presentation.

ive been to midwife today and my 2nd baby is int he same position as the 1st her spine is down my right hand side they said laying on the opposite side may help to move a birthing ball and good posture im bloody hoping she moves i couldnt cope with that again xx

amelie was face forward too but i had no probs. Think it just depends really

lilly was side ways same as this baby its still a posterior position but just side ways lol i mostly had a difficult labour because i couldnt be active due to blood issues which seemed fine this time but midwife has told me today they are the rise again so im heading down the same route again and its important to have an active up right labour with posterior babies in order to get them to move consultant had to move lilly when i was fully dilated after about 19 hours i do not want that all over again :(
