I know I don't qualify to be here but was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have been getting positive OPK tests but haven't released egg (first time temping this month and no rise).

I don't have PCOS as I had as scan last month. Is it possible I have no eggs to release even though the ultrasound tech said I had good size ovaries?

What reasons are there for not ovulating?

Can't really help you much. .it's different for everyone..I know it is normal for an average person to go one month a year not ovulating. I would track a little longer. If 2 months or so not ovulating then take temp charts to a doctor. I've had a hard time now not ovulating...now I'm ovulating with medication with Confirmation of temps...but doctor isn't sure I am releasing eggs...all so scientific and confusing..

have you checked your progesterone levels? I think this is the best way to confirm ovulation because depending on how good you are at temping there are a lot of factors that can affect your temp. I usually do a blood test around day 7 after ovulation or day 8-9 after positive OPK.

Turns out although I have no cysts my blood test indicates PCOS Adter all!

Cycst are only one symptom to PCOS. You don't have to have them. Each person is different. I hope you can get help and get your little one soon.

I had a vaginal u/s and showed I did not have the number of cysts to categorize me as PCOS. I also get multiple positive opks a month. I did start getting my progesterone tested to confirm ovulation since temping doesnt work for me. Simple bloods, I did multiple days after positive opks to confirm ovulation.

One reason is that your LH surge may not be strong enough. A positive opk doesn't mean there is enough LH to get that little eggie out. Luckily drugs like Ovidrel have been invented to help in that situation.

This is where I am headed next with my ttc efforts. Thanks to Femara I finally had a few good sized follicles but they weren't all releasing eggs. This month if all looks good I will do a trigger shot of Ovidrel and that will force them all to release!

So even if I get an LH surge that doesn't mean I actually ovulated? I need a progesterone test to tell me that?

Correct on the first part. You can tell though probably if you have ovulated without a blood test just by using a thermometer as soon as you wake up.

Click on the calendar on my signature to see my temperature charts. I have a bunch of months there and you should be able to see how easy it is to tell if you have ovulated by the temp. Before Ovulation my temps are aroind 97.2 when I wake up. After ovulation they are high 97s to 98s. There is no mistaking that!
