Positive opk yesterday....O today!

Almost onto this 2ww! Having the worst abdominal cramps and pain ever!! and SOO bloated. Bd'd the day before yesterday, yesterday, and will work on today. Anyone else near my testing period?

Me too. I think I'm 1 or 2 DPO at the moment. I use the IC OPK's and had test lines nearly the same colour as the control but not quite as strong and they've faded off again now. I'm going to assume that I ov'd on Saturday and AF is due 21st June but I'll be testing on 19th I think.

me too!! i have been ttc for 13 months and it never gets easier!! are you guys taking any assistance or all natural? i am on clomid 50 mg days 5-9. any symptoms??

We started ttc in Jan 09 but I had to have a couple of ops for endo so we had to stop trying for a long time. Since the surgery, this is my third cycle and I'm not doing anything to help just yet other than using OPK's - I like seeing that second line even if it is only for ov instead of preg!! I'm thinking of getting some preseed for the next cycle.

Is it your first that you're ttc? I don't really know anything about Clomid?

I'm going to try really hard not to symptom spot so much this month (famous last words!!) because I'd pretty much convinced myself that I was pregnant last month and I don't want to do that again!

Yes I am ttc my first! after trying for a year we went in for testing and basically they found out it appears i am annovulatory. they are not really sure why! i was on bcp for 10 years but am unsure if this is why. clomid stimulates ovulation so that is why i am on it. i took it days 5-9 and surprise i am ovulating!! hoping this is what will finally help us conceive!! I agree about teh positive opk being exciting. i was so shocked the clomid worked i kept staring at the smiley face- my oh was like why do you keep looking at it!! for me, just the o was a feat!!

is this also your first? i am trying to also be calm about all this but i am totally obsessed in all reality!!

Yep, it's my first too. We started trying when I was 30 and I'm fast approaching 32 now and starting to worry about how my fertility will deteriorate. I was on BCP for about 15 years and whilst I'm very grateful that it stopped me getting pregnant during that time, I can't help but worry that it might have caused me problems as well.

That's so good that the Clomid's working for you. It's certainly something to celebrate if you ask me but men don't really seem to get what this stuff is like for women!!

I was totally obsessed last month but managed to calm down after AF arrived. I've been ok for the last two weeks but I'm sure that now I'm in the tww I'll turn into a nightmare again!! Fortunately I can vent all of my craziness here rather than letting DH see just how nuts I can be!!

Excellent!! It's nice to have people on the same schedule. Are you both testing on 19th as well? (I say 19th, I know I'll crumble and use IC's sooner than that but I don't really take them seriously!)

Haha, yeah I think the 19th. Originally I was going to wait until the 25th so I would get my hopes up and have another chemical, but with my 100 new HPT I am sure I will crumble

I'm just using IC's at the moment. I start on about CD 10, I get a positive around CD 14 and I carry on for a couple more days just make sure that the line has faded off again. So I use about 6/7 a month although I now some people test several times a day during the fertile period. I just figure as long as we BD every day around the right period, we've done everything we can even if we don't know the exact 12-24 hour window that the eggs been released in.

Lots of people rate the CBFM but it's quite expensive so I'm not going to for at least a few more months. Can't comment on maca I'm afraid.

jenny: i am on clomid, however it is pretty much the same time frame for all ttc. I start opking on day 10 and opk 2x day until i get a positive. also remember if you opk, do not use first morning urine as it is not accurate. they say it is best to opk in the afternoon and early evening, and to opk at the same time every day. i only opk twice because i work nights 12 hour shifts so i rotate times more often! I also start bd'ing every other day starting on day 10 until i get a positive and then i try to bd every day for 3 days.

I never knew you shouldn't use FMU with OPK's - do you know why? I've just read on a few sites about it and I still don't really understand. I tend to test at around 10:00 each day and that's generally only my second wee of the day (sorry, TMI!!) so I wonder if I should change that next cycle.

its all very confusing to me lol, so if my cycle is 27/28 days long, on day 10 i start doing opk in the afternoon, how will i know if im fertile will it tell me with a line like on a pregnancy test xx

they say that there is not a surge in the LH until later in the day.... also you are suppose to test after you have not peed for 4 hours minimum and limit fluid intake prior.
