positive test after bbt shift?

I have been ttc for a while now and i am using duo fertility, on my temperature chart it showed a significant rise in temperature 5 days ago, but i was getting negative results with the ovulation tests until 3 days ago when itwas close to being positive then they went negative again until today when i got a deff. positive.
Im confused as i thought once your bbt rose and stayed high ovulation has already happened so how did i end up with a positive 5 days aftet that happened?

I emailed the duo fertility customer support earlier do hopefully i will hear back from them tomorrow and i will let you know what they say

well it has to rise for 3 days for BBT to be considered ovulated. So keep temping and see if it rises. GL

I have been, its been high for a week now. but got another positive test today......its all very confusing! Lol

could you be pregnant already? Do you know ovulation tests work as pregnancy tests? Go take a hpt!!!!!!!

I have heard that before... but its only a week since i ovulated surely thats too early to get a positive hpt.. i REALLY hope we did it this month we have been trying for so long but i dont want to get my hopes up and be disappointed again.
Im going to try and hold off for one more week and will see what happens

My IC barely showed anything but my FR showed a good line and my hcg was only 13! I was probably 8dpo although I had my FF chart at 10dpo but I kinda messed with my chart a bit. Do you have any symptoms?

I did another opk today its a little fainter but still looks positive. aside from being very tired theres no other symptoms. The duo fertility monitor takes my temps for me and i should hear from them in a few days to confirm the date of ovulation so i will know for sure when it happened. Fingers crossed!

The day after I got my + opk my temp went up so I figured I ovulated the day of the opk. Then the following day it went down but I talked to OH b4 temping so i figured it affected it and I made it go up. However my temps rose from that drop so I could have in fact been 8dpo. If any of this made sense.

what CD are you on? how long are your cycles?

im on CD 20, 7 days PO, my last cycle was 30 days and the one before was 40 but that may have been a mc.
Duo fertility predicted my ovulation to happen on 18-19th the 19th is when i got a very strong positive ovulation test, and yet my temp went up 5 days before that....
After 6pm i can upload my temp for today and see if they have confirmed ovulation yet and if not i might give them a ring tomorrow and see what their experts say cause im very confuddled!

well Id say its 2 against 1 then. You got ur positive opk and they predicted OV 18-19. Id say thats probably when u OV.

Yeah thats what i thought but then iv read opks arent as reliable at detecting ovulation as charting your bbt (to confirm it after its happened) then i was keeping track of my cm and it was like egg whites on the 12-13th which coincides with mt temp shift. lol im trying to not think too much about it but its so hard!

HMM that is confusing. Temps are def more accurate BUT at the same time as the weather gets colder and stuff amd the heat is on or what not might be able to affect it no? This was my first month temping so i dont know much

I dont think that would affect me as im using duo fertility, its a little sensor you wear under your arm and it takes your temps like 20,000 times a day. You can use it in the bath, shower etc use a hot water bottle but so long as your not putting the hot water bottle directly on the sensor or something like that it dosnt affect the rsults. last time i had a question i was given a phone appointment with one of their fertility specialists to help so i will give them a ring tomorrow though i might not get to speak to a specialist as its the weekend but im not sure, will keep you posted on what they say!

Oh ok thats pretty cool. I would be looking into one for myself if I didnt get knocked up. Well let me know what happens bc I am curious and I would feel better knowing you figured it out too

Yeah its a good wee gadget expensive tho but they refund your money if your not pregnant within a year so nothing to lose!
And congrats on your hopefully i will get mine soon!

Ya but most doctors say a woman should be pregnant within a year of trying. But still thats some money saved. Thank you very much we are excited!! And im petrified but Im sure all will b ok! I hope you do get ur bfp soon!!! Come join me! How long have you been trying

Yea thats true but most people i have heard from that are using it have been trying for over over a year. we have been trying for nearly 3 now, but just started temping and getting tests etc done this year. we are waiting for our second appointment with the fertility clinc, should be around mid november time. But im hoping duo fertility will be what helps us so its natural, dont really want to go through ivf but i will of course if its our last option
