Post hycosy pelvic infection!

Hi ladies,
i had a HYCOSY examination about a month ago now which went as well as it could (apart from the pain) lol but the results were good.. since the examination i have picked up a pelvic infection and am now on a 5 day course of antibiotics! i read on the net last night that i should of been prescribed these antibiotics immediately after the procedure to prevent any kind of infection! does anyone know if this is true and could any of you please share your post HYCOSY stories.. i'm worried that this may cause future problems i have a doctors appointment on wednesday but am going out of my mind with worry

I wasn't prescribed antibiotics routinely. I guess its the case of all hospitals/clinics do things differently. Infection is always given as a risk of these procedures. Hope you feel better soon.
