Hello!!
Had a question and wanted to see if I might be able to find some others that went through a similar situation and what their solution was.. I had been on ortho-lo for almost 10 years before stopping so we could shoot for baby #1.. I had my scheduled break through bleeding, but then nothing for 3 months. SO I went to my gyn who ran tests and put me on Provera for 10 days. That worked as it should and I thought I would be good to go.. Blood tests were all normal. 2 months later, no AF.. so went back on Provera again and AF arrived. Waited another month.. no cycle. SO I heard about vitex and ordered some Femaprin. Started taking that in January of this year and to my surprise, had a normal period in April after taking it for 3 months! I was sure this was my saving grace. It is now almost August and I have not had a regular cycle since April. I am not sure whether to quit the vitex and just let my body do what it needs to do, continue the vitex, or go on the artificial hormone combo my doctor recommended. (She isn't into natural/herbal treatments, but she told me to give vitex a shot if I wasn't in a huge hurry to conceive). Any suggestions or advice would be great! We would really love to be blessed with a baby, but not having a period isn't helping!! Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Hi Negnit - I had the same problem, after I went off bcp my period never started up again. I did provera a couple times also. My obgyn referred me to a fertility specialist who tried clomid and I didn't respond to that at all so now I am on injection therapy (if you're unfamiliare with it try googling gonadotropins. I am on the brand Menopur). They were never able to figure out why exactly I am not ovulating on my own - I am very healthy otherwise - except that it just happens to some women. It's pretty aggressive and expensive, so I truly hope that your body stabilizes on its own soon, and that you don't have to go down this path!

Thanks for your response.. It's so frustrating when the things you need to make a baby aren't happening! Have you found anything that works for you? Good luck!

Hi Ladies,
I went of BC in April 2010 and havent had a natural period since. My GYN. gave me Orgametril to induce one in April. 2011. I got one but the side effects were so horrible that i that refused to take them again. I prefer all natural ways and did some research... Hot baths, no Fizzy drinks or caffiene, Vitamin C, Cranberry and a few others things to. I tried them all. But no success. Then, in the grocery store here in Montenegro i found tea... Womens Tea. The box says for 'Irregular Periods and other Womens Problems". I drank this tea for a week, today the box is empty and i got my period! No horrible side effects, all natural! Im so happy and feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Im posting this hoping it will help someone else too!

Contact me if you have any questions or want Info on the tea!

Goodluck!

Sorry, hun, but I don't think it's a cure. If you got your period right after drinking tea for a week, then you either ovulated earlier on your own and would have gotten the period anyway without any tea. Or what you got is anovulatory cycle bleeding. Chances are the tea has parsley in it? It's known to bring on bleed on long anovulatory cycles.

I know this post was written a couple of months ago but the same thing happened to me. I had been on Yasmin for about 10 years, came off of it and never got a natural period after 2 years. We've tried clomid, tamoxifen, IVF, and I am now taking Chinese herbs that were specially formulated by an herbalist. Nothing has worked!! Just wondering if you had success and if so, what worked for you??
Thanks!

I really wish doctors would warn us when we start the pill that there is a possibility it will make having a child much more difficult. Not that it would have stopped me from taking the pill. when I started I was 17 and a baby was the last thing in the world I wanted.

I was hormonal BC for 8 years, ortho tri cyclen, the patch, many years on nuva ring. when I quit to get pregnant I couldn't! My cycles were months long, with only spotting so I never knew if I had even ovulated. After about 10 months of torture I went to my gyno, he sent me home and told me to chart. 2 months later I brought in the ugliest chart ever, temps all over the place and he prescribed me provera and clomid. First I took it at 50, no luck. Then at 100, half in the am half in the pm, I got pregnant!

I understand your frustration very well, I was there. But I wanted to share my story so that you know there is hope.
