:flower: hi everyone

just out of curiosity can anyone give me a rough idea of what ur body was like after having ur baby? ive heard so many diff things, im currently 36weeks preg & im border line running out of clothes. im asking because i figure i could manage these last couple weeks with what ive got perhaps based on the fact that i will go back to roughly the size i was pre pregnancy hopefully after a couple of weeks??? i dont want to waste money on bigger clothes for myself that i might not need after baby is here, i havent put on much weight as a whole its mostly all bump so im feeling slightly optimistic but obv i have no idea lol xxx

Baby weight (ie. scale weight) is no biggie, it's the damage that is done to your abdominal muscles and hips, makes you look very different (well for some, some women look the same after). Me, I am back to pre-p weight but my hips are 2 inches wider from my massive baby!

 aww well done!!
i hope i am the same, im on my own with baby & i really need to find some confidence
xx

As Aliss said my hips too are DEFINITELY wider. I'm pretty squishy in the middle it's been hard trying to get my tummy muscles back also.

i got back to my pre pregnancy weight 3 months after however as others have said my hips are wider. i can get into my prepregnancy clothes but the dont seem to fit me the same as my body is a totally diffrent shape now. havent bought many new things just yet as im still working on losing more weight. i would like to lose an extra 10-15

After I had Sophia I my weight was lower than when I got prego. I was very sick in the first 3 trimesters though so that might have something to do with it. But I agree, my stomach is kind of 'mushy' now

perhaps i will need to invest in some new (cheap :haha:) clobber then- my jeans i was wearing pre preg were pretty tight fitting so the chances of me getting in them any time soon will be highly unlikely- just didnt want to buy myself stuff when i cud be buying lovely lil baby things :crib:

I went to primark and bought some things from nicer shops, but not many. Only last week did I go and splurge on some nice clothes :) but I was breastfeeding and had the biggest appetite . Now were combi feeding and I've managed to diet a little x

its kind of gross but you lose like 20lbs after birth with the baby, water, blood, placenta and other fluids. i remember i was 140lb before pregnancy and then went to 170lbs before birth, that next week i got on the scale and i was 150lb. without doing much i'm at 145lb now so just 5lbs to lose. i'm JUST now able to get into a few of my prepregnancy jeans and they are tight in the hips

If you have some sweatpants they would be good until you get back to your size. I was all bump and gained 18 lbs. I have been back into my jeans for a few weeks. I lost all the weight fast about a week and a half after birth, but still didn't fit into my jeans for 2 months. It was just extra belly swelling, my hips stayed the same. I took a pic of my belly 7 days after I had LO... here it is.

wow u look great!!! ive put on a bit more than u tho, think im at 23lbs so far, i was a UK size 8/10 im now in a 10/12, im hoping to be able to buy a nice dress for christmas day & get some heels on my feet finally!! :haha: xx

Yep sweatpants, don't forget you might bleed all over your pants in the first little while, EEK

Girl it sounds like you'll have no trouble u skinny minny! ;) I was 11stone 7 pre pregnancy and weighed in at 15stone on delivery day (before having my 9lb2 and 57cm little monster!) Then after 3weeks where I ate EVERYTHING, I was down to 12st4. Not sure what I am now as I haven't weighed myself. I figure I'll c where I am at 3months b4 I consider an actual diet. Good luck with everything! And enjoy every minute of ur baby :) x

Before I was pregnant I was a size 10 - 12, I put on 2 stone during pregnancy but instantly lost a stone after the birth. I'm not yet able to fit into the majority of my pre pregnancy clothes though. Some of the size 12 clothes fit ok, if a little tight but I've been using the belly belt to hold my size 10 jeans up, just like I did in early pregnancy. This is because I still have a bit of a squishy jelly belly but its still early days, I'm confident I'll be able to fit into everything again, once I'm able to start up my exercise routine again.

I never put on much weight during pregnancy anywhere except bump which was huge, ive still got a bit of a tummy but im back to my original weight from about 5 weeks with no effort.. Its just one of those things i think everyone is different, as pre-pregnancy we are all prone to putting on weight differently x

It varies so much between women but for me my body is very different.

I'm two stone heavier, two dress sizes up, my hips are wider, my back is wider (?!?!?) and my boobs are still two sizes bigger than pre pregnancy.

This is nearly 7 months down the line too. To be honest I haven't made the biggest effort to lose weight but I'm a bit baffled about why it happened as I didn't eat any more during pregnancy than I did before and when I was pregnant I looked all boobs and bump.

My friend on the otherhand was back in pre pregnancy clothes a week after giving birth and she's much less active than me. It's just such an individual thing.

Good luck with your LO :) x

I was a size 10-12 pre preg and am the same now, I was just under ten stone (I am 5'9'') and now I am just over ten stone. I can get back into all my clothes but they are little snugger and my hips are definitely wider, and so is my ribcage (I had some strapless dresses that were a good but tight fit beforehand that I just can't do up now, despite having no extra weight on my top half at all (I've always had a small waist and long torso).

I was back to pre preg weight like 3 days after, buttt, my hips are much wider now, so don't fit into the same jeans. I'm the same weight but up a size :( Was a 10, now a 12/14.
