Parcels & stamps for cards - near enough comes to the £££ you spent on prezzies. Do you forget about these things whist buying?

This seems to be the last thing I need to sort out but oh boy at the prices - what annoys me is the wonder if they'll actually get there - do you post early? I am this year (already started) the erlier the better the later the more hectic the sorting offices get I'm sure.

Even the price of second class stamps have gone up so much! Makes me wonder if my 'cheap buy' really is when you add on the p&p :(
Xx

I really must do my cards and stuff as i always worry they won't arrive and people think i am ignorant!!

my cards are done and sitting in stan's backpack waiting to be mailed :dohh: He hasn't actually gone into the office this week between Hannah's teething and our lovely cold that we've caught! But yeah the prices are outrageous, I think Canada post even increased their cost by 150% at one point for parcels

You people are very organised - I've not even got my cards down from the attic yet!

I'm lucky in that I post letters to test the royal mail system throughout the year and get paid in postage stamps so I have them in abundance - comes in handy at this time of year.

Every week I get sent a package with envelopes which I have to mail out at specific times over the week. There's a certain amount of assembly to do - sticking labels, occasionally writing out addresses.

At the same time I receive test mail items most days, and enter the details on the survey website. That only takes a couple of minutes each time.

For this, I get "rewarded" with postage stamps each month - a book of 12 1st class stamps, and a book of 6 1st class large letter stamps.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but MSE do a thread on cheap parcel delivery. I've used one of them and it worked really well. I sent cards & presents for all of my family plus an anniversary present for my parents, all for £7.

I had customers coming in their droves last year a couple of weeks before xmas and presents took ages to get there but the customers who cames in about 4-5 days before the cut off dates their presents were getting delivered the next day!
