postpartum conception

Ok so I'm nearly 6 weeks postpartum with my first. I had my postpartum appt at 1 month and was cleared to resume all activities. My OH and I DTD at 5 weeks and he did not wear a condom (i was unaware he didn't put it on as we were side by side the entire time. Yes I screamed at him for that). He did pull out not that it is a fool proof method. My question is, what's the likelihood of me conceiving so soon. I ebf for about 4-5 days then breastfed/pumped and supplemented until she was 2 weeks before going to all formula. I stopped bleeding 2 days before dtd and didn't get a period yet. I've never tracked my ovulation before or CM changes. We conceived not trying not preventing. Help?

No one can tell you the likelihood. Just cross your fingers and test in 2 weeks. Why didn't you get on BC at your PP appointment?

I did. I had taken one pill the previous night at that point. My Dr said to use backup for the month and have an appt for mirena 11/14. I thought we were safe and shame on me for not asking, but at this point in our relationship I trusted he would listen and put one on.

It's already been 6 days since we dtd. Do I test in 2 weeks from dtd or 2 weeks from today?

Test 2 weeks from dtd, I know that u are pretty fertile after having a baby do it is possible. Try not to worry, I know easier said than done! Let us know how u get on xx

Is there a possibility of a false positive from leftover hormones?

I wouldn't have said so but I don't know for sure. I think if u got a positive test I would say it is a new pregnancy. Seriously though, try not to think about it for the next couple weeks and see what happens.

You could have had your period all in with your postpartum bleeding, I didn't no when one stopped and the other started! If your bleeding was period then I don't think you would have caught ovulation but you never know xx

Thank you! I'm going to try to not think about it and test a week from tomorrow. I slowed postpartum bleeding for a few days and went back to bleeding so I'm hoping that was period. Regardless of the results I'll have my Dr do a blood test especially before my IUD just to be safe
