I bought an avent powder dispenser so I can count out the scoops for a number of feeds in advance. But...

Do I need to sterilise the powder dispenser?

If I do, it gets wet with the steam so I have to leave it air-dry anyways which makes it not sterile...

We never sterilized it but doing it once wouldn't be a horrible idea (just to get whatever chemcials and germs are on it from the production line, etc). But after that, you're right, probably wont make much difference! the one thing you have to be careful about is making sure that the outlet (where the formula pour out and into the bottle) doesn't get wet. We had that happen quite frequently and i later learned this can cause bad illness (with the residue, tacky powder remaining on the outlet and then doesnt get cleaned and then you pop it over to the next slot and then the formula that comes out of that gets contaminated with the sticky formula on the outlet). It makes sense, i just never realized it until later on.
Of course, same can be said with the scoop and the actual formula can. ...i never thought about it previously, but the same risk is carried if you leave the scoop in the container. So we def will not do that next time around.

Personally I do sterilize it, it's got 4 seperate compartments and the pouring cap (it's fab, Bibi milk powder dispenser). I wouldn't say it's because I'm obsessive but my steriliser has a pretty large capacity, so I bung it in along the way with everything else. For the same reason I even bundle the bottle brush in!! ha x

I wouldn't bother. The powder isn't sterile anyway, which is why the water has to be above 70c when you make up the bottle. So in my thinking, the hot water will kill anything off anyway.

I never sterilised mine however I did run it through the dishwasher every so often to give it a clean
