Afternoon girls !
Having asked your advice last time about which pram/ buggy to get, and finally deciding on the 'out n about double nipper v2', I thought I was all organized!
Well today I have gone to order said buggy, but have had a sneaky look at the 'city select double buggy', which now comes with carrycots - it looks fab !!
So now, once again im not sure which to choose?!?
My options are the nipper v2 double or the city select double .

Any advice would be great ! We live in a sea side town and do lots of camping and walking in woods etc, so i need a buggy that will cope with the off roading side as well be nice around towns !

I shouldn't have looked at the other pram !! :dohh:

i like the baby jogger one with carry cots. i seen it on kiddicare. where have u found it and how much for? whats the size like?

Well I saw it today on kiddicare.com, as I was pricing up which website had the best deals for all the bits we need. I have seen it in our nearest mother are shop (chester) and it's very nice to push and collapse. We've been to see the older version of the V2 in an independent shop(near chester) and it was also very nice to push and collapse! Can't really remember which is bigger width wise - shall have a google later!

compared to the basic double buggies I've pushed for the past 9 years at nursery - both of these buggies are like the rolls royces of the double pram world!

Do u work in a nursery? i do too and yeh our doubles are hideous. i thought the kiddicare price was really good, 479 i think. im a bit early to be looking at prams but cant help it. im only 11 wks. got scan next monday. cant wait to see them again. you having identicals? how far r you?

Hi
I'm getting the City Mini Double with carrycots, in fact i'm ordering it next week from Kiddicare. I've tried this puschair out and it's brilliant, really easy to push and collapse. I haven't found a bad review on this pushchair they are all very promising. One of my friends has the double and the other the single and both have been really pleased with them and still are! xx

Yes, when not on mat leave, I run a toddler room in a day nursery, so i'm pretty used to pushing double and triple buggies !
I'm 34 weeks with identical boys - we didn't find out till our 12 week scan - had no idea and hardly any symptoms ! Are yours identical ?

OH has found out that I was having doubts about our original choice and he's put his foot down and told me that we are sticking with our original decision due to the off roading suitablility of the V2 - it does make more sense I guess

I had the iCandy peach double that is similar to the select but the back seat is at the bottom. I would definitely not recommend it as a walking buggy! Great as a shopping etc buggy. I did have a play with the select once in a shop aswell and as soon as I sat my son in the front seat it was really heavy to lift because they are sat right above the wheels.
I agree with the baby jogger we have it and it is great! I think it would be brill for newborns with or without carrycots because with the seats back and the hoods over its like a little cocoon. Also very light weight, easy to push and the easiest buggy I have ever folded!

hi dippy tink. ive worked in daycare for 12 yys now and currently work with 2-3s. We found out at a 7 wk scan there were two, id had and still have pains, so was sent for scan. got shock of my life. alot of mixed emotions, they were also concerned they were momo's. i then had another at 9 wks and it looks like they may have separate scks within one big one but cant confirm til 12 wk scan. so yeh looks like mine too are identical. ive bn worried sick about whether ill carry them ok, if theyll have problems etc, ,y scan is next mon and im so excited but also so scared. im still having symptoms on and off so hoping thats a positive sign. So yrs are boys? u got names? weve got some in mind. its hard picking for two.

Hi, I have the city mini double (2011 model) with the two carrycots and love it! It takes up a little room in the car boot as you obviously have to have room for the carrycots as well as the pushchair but they stack on top of each other so it's not a problem. The pushchair is a dream to push because it's so lightweight-I can push it one handed and hold my toddlers hand and the fold on it has meant I'm actually finding it easier than I did with my little girls single bugaboo!
Friends of mine have the next one up (can't remember the name! The elite mod maybe?) and have said they wished they got the mini because of the weight of theirs.
I have other friends who have the nipper and love it but it's the bucket seats on it that put me off as I found with my older daughter, as she got older she wanted quite upright seats as she found bucket seats frustrating.
The city mini is really fab and although not designed for off roading, I have had it on the beach etc and it's handled better than my bugaboo ever did!
:)

are the carry cots seperate from the pushchair seats or do they just sit on top. does that make sense? my mamas and papas ultima i had for my son, the carrycot and pushchair seats were seperate so you could fix whichever you wanted on.

Well my only advice is you is to enjoy your pregnancy, take it easy and relax! You'll have lots of scans to make sure that everything is going well, so you get to see your babies so much ! from 18 weeks, you'll have a scan every 2 weeks ! I have so many photos of the boys, that it's like a flip book !!
I've had no problems, so far, and my symptoms have been very sparse, so I've been
quite lucky compared to some. The girls on here are so lovely and are ready to help, if they can ! So any questions, ask away !
My boys are going to be called Finley Russell and Benjamin Russell - they are both having my dad's name as their middle names, as he died when I was 12, so I think it's a fitting tribute to him. The boys are being delivered via c-section on valentines day - so not long now !!

The carrycots come seperate and are an additional cost of about £100 each and they slide on to the pushchair, on top of the pushchairs seats-you lie the pushchair seats flat and they sit on top (does that make sense?!). What's great about that is that we have used a range of set ups with the pushchair as its meant I can attach just one carrycot and have my toddler sat in a seat whilst I carry one baby in a baby carrier too.
You don't need the carrycots mind, as the pushchair seats are lie flat, it's just that with it being the winter I'd wanted them to be cosy and facing me so I decided to pay the extra.
A shop local to me price matched so we got the pushchair for £410 and the carrycots for £129 each (I think!). We then had to pay for the raincover and we ordered a bumper bar too for when they're in the seats. I've worked on the theory that I'll eBay the carrycots when I'm done with them! We've definitely got our use out of them though as they're so lightweight that we've been able to take them into people's houses so the babies have always had a place to sleep!

oh im really struggling with a pram right now, been searching for hours, had one picked out (first wheels city) i think it was. but i think i would need something a little more practical and lightweight and the only one i have liked and tryed out is the mini jogger. Must say im not to keen on the way the carrycots stick out , but for the time you use them its not much of an issue. Also not driving yet and have a 2yr old to run after aswell im just looking for the easiest pram there is:shrug: and all gd reviews on the city jogger

Hi dippy tink, my sons name is finlay and my maiden name is russell. I love ur names particularly finlay. My son siuts it so much and gets Finn for short. When did u find out what they were. I dont think I have any where that stocks the city jogger close near me. Do mothercare big stores do it?

Sorry to jump in but I have the city select for when baby number 2 arrives (dd will only be 18 months so need a double) I e had. Splay with ours and whilst I love it at the moment I can't see us going off road with it. Don't know anything about the other pram you were looking at but the bjcs wouldn't cut it off road IMO

we are going to call the boys Ben and Finn for short - we already know which boys is which, due to their different movement patterns and music tastes !
we found out they are boys at our 18 week scan, although at my 16 week scan, the sonographer thought they were girls !! i still ask them to check at every scan !!
i've only been to the chester mothercare and I guess its a medium sized shop. haven't seen it anywhere else - maybe they have baby events coming up near where you are ?
we have ordered our pram - we went with the 'out n about nipper V2 double' with some nice extras, so that should be delivered next week !
