Right this is going to sound stupid but when (what month) did you start putting your LO in a pramsuit in winter?? Its still quite warm most days were we are and dont want him getting to hot so just thought id ask you ladies and get a rough idea

When it was cold:thumbup:

Mine were born at different times of the year so Toby....born in November had a pramsuit/snowsuit/all-in-one on straightaway

Hannah was born in October last year and she was in pramsuits straightaway. Some babies can deal with the cold better than others so you need to find whats best for your little one. He'll soon let you know if he's cold.

Josh is always cold but were still getting away with a coat and hat at the moment, probs wont be long til hes in a pram suit though. Really depends on the weather

I have bought a couple but havent used them yet due to it been very mild. I think every babys different, Alex doesnt like been too hot i am sure your wee one will let you know if they are cold xx

leyley was born in january so she had a pram suit on pretty much until we went on holiday, which was in may! shes not in one now cos its been warm, if we go out i put her in either her footmuff which keeps her sooo cosy in just her normal clothes, or if i dont have the footmuff on i give her a hooded coat over her teeshirt, and a blanket for her legs, i was thinking its getting a bit colder now though so might have to buy a new pram suit, im worried about getting her too warm aswell though same as you

I'm just gonna put her in one when I start to find it cold on my hands and ears etc etc. Probably in a few weeks tbh. She has an adorable snowsuit this year :D its leopard sorta but with pink in it :)

OO that sounds cute, can I ask were you got it from??

I am currently on the look out for one for Olivia, the weather is wild here at the moment sometimes it is freezing and then a few hours later the sun pops out and it is really warm

I got it from TK Maxx :) They had loads of really cute and unusual snowsuits. I saw one in M&S I like too as it's a waterproof one instead of fluffy.

Asda have a cowprint one for £6 so I got one in the next size up as I figure it was cold and snowing when I had my 12week scan in December last year so he has time to grow into it.

so far we can but him in the pram in normal clothes and 9 out of 10 times when i get him out his so hot and sweaty so his cosy toes must be doing the right job, cannot do it all the way up otherwise it covers his mouth and theres loads of it round his head. Might need more on him when we go to skeggy next week though

excuse my lack of knowledge here - what do babies wear under the pram suit? what they'd be wearing in a warm house, bodysuit + trousers? would you leave off the warm cardy/jacket?

also, how necessary IS a pram suit when you have a foot muff? I have a Bugaboo Bee and the Baby Nest that goes with it, I expect to be moving him to the foot muff in a few months... is it not enough to dress him warmly?

in a pram suit leyla wears a vest with a sleepsuit or top and trousers, no cardigan or coat, sometimes a hat if its really cold, most of them have hoods anyway

if u have a footmuff isnt that just like a blanket over their feet? i dont know what the bugaboo one is like but i know mine covers their whole body and has a pull string thing at the top so u can tighten it around the head to make it more cosy, so in that it says deff dont put anything other thanindoor clothes on them, if its more just like a blanket then i would just put her in a coat over a vest, teeshirt and normal pair of trousers

HTH

Does that look warm enough to not need a pram suit as well?

I'd just put their normal clothes on them plus a thick hat, gloves, jacket and socks/boots.

I use a snow suit for the carseat though :) Or baby carrier. I put normal clothes on under it. Like if she was wearing trousers/vest/top and cardy thats what id leave her in.

A pramsuit is just an all in one coat, if you have a footmuff then you just need a normal coat, hat and gloves. Don't use a pramsuit as well as a footmuff especially if you're gonna be in and out of shops. I would only put snowsuit as well as footmuff on baby if it's exeptionally cold, like snowing and you are going to the park or somewhere similar for any length of time:thumbup:
