These are the 2 my hubby and I have been looking at. It's all so confusing and new for us!
I wondered if any of you lovely ladies had any experience of one of these two?
The Graco Quattro Tour and The Hauck Apollo 4 ---

They both seem to be pretty well rated - I've checked netmums and lots of other reviews...
Also, any general thoughts/opinions are very gratefully welcomed - as I am a complete newbie to all of this! :dohh: x

Sorry- it should say Hauck on the title (I misspelt it)... (baby brain) lol

My Friend has a Graco one simular to the one you posted. I find it really heavy and bulky it takes up all the room in my boot and my boot is huge! but she loves it so what works for one doesnt work for everyone! x

Hi Becky, and thanks for the reply!
That was the only downside that i could find with regards to the Graco - the weight.
We'll have to check this week to see if it actually fits our car boot first. And I also have a bad back...
I was wondering how much heavier this is compared to others?
Or is is that the newer models are just much lighter in general? x

Thanks again

I have the Britax Vigour 4+ and it feels about half the weight of her Graco x

i had the Graco Quattro Tour - it's done both of mine and will do my third!
it is big - struggled to fit it in a friends' boot. and it is heavy! but the convenience with the car seat is really good, just clipping it on and off from pram to car - no straps to mess with is bril. tho once it's got the car seat on it does get very heavy! the basket is a really good size. it lies totally flat which is definitely a +. and i can still fit my 3 1/2 year old in it if i wanted to. it's a very sturdy pram and prob the best in it's price range. it wears well, the wheels have been fine etc.

depends on budget i guess. i would love to have a new pram this time round, a bebe loola or something but they cost like £4-500!!! i think i paid about £220 for my graco, and it's lasted me well.

in fact, you often see them around, obviously quite old but still going strong.

if you have a small budget but a big boot (tho i got mine in my 3 door punto!) then def go for it.

Hi
I had a Haulk 3 in 1 pram, baby seat and buggy, it was pretty heavy and bulky, and realistically i could only use it from home as it was all too much to put in the car, but the car seat served us well, and the buggy for quite a while and the pram for as long as my dd was in it.

Downsides were bulky, heavy, upsides were sturdy and comfortable.

The moveable handle was great until the screw came out, I tried kiddicare where i got the buggy and haulk themselves and no one could help me find the part which made the whole unit redundant!! I got no further offers of repair either.

If I can get it repaired, it is in capable hands at the moment! I will use the pram and car seat again, but mainly from home rather than carrying the bulky chasis everywhere!

Personally due to lack of customer care i would avoid Haulk, my friend had a similar thing from mothercare and although it broke and had to go back the good customer care at mothercare at least meant it could!

I would certainly recommend silver cross and mamas and papas products, i would defo say go to some big stores and trial run a few round for size and movement, and buy from somewhere you can return faultly products to for repair like Mothercare, Argos, Tesco etc.

Hope this helps xx

i have the hauck jeep condor :D
obviously i havent used it as yet, but ive given it a test drive and its really smooth and easy to push :) xx

Thanks for the info and help ladies.
And after all that going between this and that - (we had definitely decided between those specific two) And today what happened? - we went and and bought a Bebe Confort Maxi Cosi Loola Up! lol --

and we got the car seat to go with it -

But we did get a good deal on it ;) xxx

I have the graco Mosaic and it looks and feels great I have yet to put it into practice but IMO it folds up qite small too xx

I dont have either of the ones you are looking at but have experience with Graco and Hauck and id definitely go for the Graco.

Yes they tend to be a bit more bulky than others but they are very sturdy and a really well renowned make.

I had 2 Hauck travel systems (one sent as a replacement for the other) and they were both crap! When my daughter was 6 weeks old the bar that supports the car seat snapped clean off and my LO went flying out (thankfully unharmed). In that 6 weeks id also needed to replace all the inner tubes on the wheels as they'd ruptured. Hauck were useless, despite the pushchair being under guarantee, took them 4 months to send a new one out to us and we had a nightmare getting that as we had to send every single bit back for them to analyse why it had broken before they sent us a new one. And guess what, after 3 uses the same bar supporting the car seat snapped again - and it was a different model of pushchair!

Im sure people have had better experiences of Hauck but for me personally it was enough to put me off!

Well I have to say I'm relieved we didn't go for the Hauck now! (even tho hubby actually preferred that one)... Another lady on here had similar problems with hers too.. Not good :nope:
After I'd tried the Graco out, I just felt it was a little too big and heavy for me (I have a bad back). Otherwise, it seemed fine.
After all that, I just hope the Bebe Loola Up works well for us. I had a mess around with it last night and it all seems solid, functional and easy to use :)
It's more confusing than buying a car!! lol
x

i'm soooooo jealous!!! how did u manage to get a good deal? I really want this pram this time despite having a perfectly good graco, simply because it folds up smaller, i love the carry cot and you can have the seat facing u! But I just don't know how i can justify over £400 when i've still got a perfectly good pram in the attic!

actually its not this one but the loola (not the loola up) which has 2 handles, not a bar. but still, this one looks good.

Just had a look at the link and the one you bought looks lush!!

Didnt notice that before I posted yesterday! lol xxx

We went to a local pram shop (quite a big one though). And haggled!
We saw a better deal online, and we told them, and asked them to match it and we'd pay cash and take it away there and then. It worked :winkwink:
Cash in hand, deal done, they were happy, and so were we!
I know what you mean about the cost... some prams are outrageously priced. I could never justify spending that. Besides which, we couldn't afford them.
You could try doing the same if you have a good pram shop near you.
But if your Graco is still in good nick, you could save the cash? xx

We looked at that one too, and the only reason we went for the Up over the other was personal choice (I much prefer the full bar) xx
