I know this is off topic, but really need prayers for my dog. He's a mini-dashchund (wiener dog). His name is Levi, and we've had him since he was 8 weeks old, and he's now 7yrs.
Yesterday morning I went to get him from his crate(crate trained at night), and he had explosive diarrhea, teeth chattering, I let him out and he could barely walk. He was actin like he was blind, and semi conscious, not really aware of anything. Laboured breathing. Rushed him to the vet, and she said he is having seizures. Very very sick puppy. I will know the test results this morning from the pathology report, but the vets main concern is that one pupil is dilated, the other is a tiny pin point in size. Which indicates an issue with his brain (tumour cancer). We are devastated, and my kids are as well(a young as they are they sense it). Unfortunately if it's cancer and he's in pain we will have to make the tough decision of putting him down. Ideally speaking I would love to bring him home to be comfortable, and spend his last days with us. But it would e cruel to do such a thing if he's in a ton of pain. I will know later this morning. Another possibility is epilepsy. So we will see. So please if you think of it please pray. We need a miracle. It is touch and go with him right now.:(

Prayers sent, so sorry you and your family are going through this today. I hope he makes a quick recovery! ♡

My thoughts are with Levi, I really hope you get some good news. I know how upsetting and hard it is to lose a dog. X

I'm so sorry to read about your puppy. I hope things turn out well for you. I know how hard it is going through this as I just went through it last year with my cat.

Thank you ladies so much. It's not looking good. Just horrible. He's a dog but still a big part of our family

Our dog is a huge part of our family too - he's my fur-baby. Sending loads of hugs and positive vibes for Levi (its a lucky name - my cat has beaten the odds several times and he's called Levi :) ) xxx

Oh hun I am definitely praying!! I lost my dog a month before my wedding (he passed away on Christmas day 2012) he had seizures due to a couple of traumatic accidents he experienced (his previous owners kids tortured him and he was attacked by a big dog) he weighed about 5 pounds and was my baby. I knew how to help him through his seizures, just a matter of holding him and massaging his stiff limbs. If it is a seizure disorder he will be okay you will just have to educate yourself on methods to help him through them. I will be praying for you!!

Praying for you... I'm an emergency vet technician and these types of situations are the most difficult. I have an older dog at home too. I'm so sorry, I hope it turns out to be epilepsy, that can be controlled fairly well for many years with Pheno and KBr. The cluster seizures can take a lot out of them, I hope you get some time with your baby!

Sending many thoughts for your puppy! I hope things turn out for the best, because they really are our children right along with the actual human kind! We almost lost our boy late last year, he was acting weak, throwing up, not eating and not really using the bathroom for a day or so, not even taking peanut butter, which is his favorite...as it turned out, we had a variety of invasive nightshade in our yard, and somehow he got ahold of a berry (probably through eating grass for an upset stomach) and it just about shut down his liver function...he is fine now, but he went through a two month course of medications to get him back to normal...

im sending thoughts your way for you and your family..it is definitely rough to go through :hugs:

I'm so sorry for you all, how heartbreaking.. sending love and positive energy your way <3

Well the news isn't good:( the vet said he has taken a turn for the worse. She believes it could e toxicity or a brain tumour. But doesn't know. She says that he is not respondin to treatment. His body temp has gone down again, he is shaking and seizuring again. She has strongly suggested that we put him to sleep. My heart is so broken right now.

I am so so sorry. These things are never easy, especially with kids. We had to put our family dog down when I was in my 20s due to a tumour in her nasal cavity which couldn't be treated due to proximity to her brain. She was one of the family, I had to take several days off work I was so traumatized/upset.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

I'm so sorry :( I know that is a difficult decision but you are doing the best thing you can for him. Praying for you and your family.

I'm so sorry. That is a a very hard decision to make. All the best..

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh bump buddy!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO sorry! We went through this with our boston terrier and I wish we would have made the decision to put him down earlier had we known how bad his seizures were going to get. They are the saddest thing to watch and the hardest decision to make when it comes to pet ownership! Praying for you and your family as I know our animals have always been a part of our fam and it's devastating when things like this happen. Especially since it's so unexpected! Hang in there. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I am so sorry to be reading this. Such a heart breaking thing to go through. Hugs and prayers from my family to yours.

Thank you all so much. It has been a very hard day. We did make the hard decision today to put him down. I think I'm still in shock. 2 days ago he was fine and no issues. The vet strongly believes he got into some poison. We live on a semi large piece of land which we let him wander on his own. I feel so guilty and responsible for his death. My husband is burying him as I type this. Just can't bring myself to go say goodbye. I know it would be closure if I did. I just can't right now. So devastating. He was young for his breed, almost 8 yrs old. But the lifespan for dashchundd is 16 years. So very unexpected. Anyways thank you all so much for your prayers they mean so much.

I'm very sorry for your less. Pets are a huge part of their families and their loss hurts very much. Xxxx
