Ok, so I had my first child in July 2012. The labour had started and finished in 55 minutes, and he almost came out over the toilet as the midwife told me I was only 3cm!
I had my second child February just gone, and would like to share my experience.
First of all, I saw my midwife at 3.50 and she told me I hadn't dilated at all and was most likely going to have to be induced. I arrived home with my 2 and a half year old son, and my partner left for the station to see a friend for a couple of hours.
5.15pm I started getting pains, I thought they were just braxton hicks but I warned my mum (hospital driver) to be ready, as she lived 30 minutes away and I was a bit worried seeing as though my last labour was so fast!
Anyway, at half 5 I phoned my partner to get home ASAP as I was going to tell my mum to drive up as I thought I would be needing to go to hospital soon(ish), even though the midwives I spoke to over the phone said to come in when my contractions were 1 - 2 minutes apart and mine varied from 3/5 minutes.
6pm, my waters broke and he arrived a minute later (literally).
The only help and support I had was my poor 2 and a half year old son who has been completely and utterly traumatised by the whole experience.
Oh, and then I had to make my way downstairs with a newborn and a toddler with the placenta still in to let the paramedics in! Crazy.
Anyway, I hope everyone elses labours went as planned and well
!
Definately an experience.
Anyone else have precipitate labours? X
