Prednisolone for recurrent miscarriages?

Hi all,

Firstly I'm so sorry to anyone who has been through a mc(s) and I'm sending you massive hugs.

We've just been through our 3rd mc and today I went to see the professor at the recurrent miscarriage clinic and she has offered us an Implantation Clinic procedure where they check the count the uNK cells in the lining of your womb.... if there are too many, they treat you with "Prednisolone" - which she explained is a Steroid... it is linked to help miscarriages although it's not proven.

So.. I'm trying to find out alot more about it before we go ahead with it (a) because I'm not sure I want to go through another procedure and (b) we have to pay for it ourselves.

Has anyone been through the procedure?
Have you been prescribed Prednisolone to avoid miscarriage?
Did it work?
How long did you take it for? Before TTC, during pregnancy?
What side effects did you have?

I'd truly appreciate any advice you can offer.

I have immune issues so pred is on my protocol when I get a natural BFP with Intralipids. I a under Dr George at Zita West

I am nervous about taking it, but it will be worth it in the end...

Hi hun.

I think I've posted on another thread of yours, but I had this test - it came back positive (normal levels are up to 5%, mine were 11.5%).
When I fell pregnant in December, I started on the prednisalone and stopped at 13 weeks, my rainbow after 3 miscarriages was born 6 weeks ago.

The test is DEFINITELY worth it especially if all other tests have been clear.
The biopsy takes minutes and doesn't hurt too much. Results take 5-6 weeks.
