hello all

i was meaning to ask as i am pretty worried about my girlfriend recently finding out she is pregnant...our baby passed away 4 months ago and she had to go through a misscarrage...

now i need to ask you guys since shes 17 could this be a much more risky pregnancy with her just having a misscarage 4 months ago as her body most likely has not recovered from the last 1

its been playing on my mind the past few days so i thought i would ask

Hey Stevon, firstly sorry about your loss, its a mighty bitch!! And congrats on the new bfp!:hugs: If that was her first mc her odds of another is the same as if she hadnt had one at all. I had a mmc just before I got pregnant with this one and saw a heartbeat on Friday, no period inbetween. Its a scary time but shes young and I assume otherwise healthy there is every chance you will have a nice healthy baby at the end of the nine months! Shes had a few cycles inbetween to get back to her normal self so there is no increased risk of another mc. Good luck to you both, look after each other!:hugs:

WannaB is right. There is no increased risk. My Doc pretty much told us we could start trying right away. I got my BFP 3 months after my mmc.

So sorry for your recent loss
I had a natural miscarriage on October 17th. Doctor said that we could try again as soon as we wanted to. Could have that first cycle (after the MC but before first AF). She said it would be safe and if my body ovulated it would be fine, my body is ready to support a new life. We didn't try that first cycle just because we wanted to heal emotionally first before trying again. We tried after my first AF and got pregnant :cloud9: baby boy is healthy as can be and we are expecting him in August! :yipee: and I'm doing fine too :)

At least 1 in 4 pregnancies will result in a miscarriage. It's usually bc of missing or extra DNA genes. Nothing your gf did and nothing you did :hugs:, unfortunately it's just a common thing when it comes to creating life :( good news is miscarrying 1x, 2x, and even 3x does not generally affect future pregnancies. It takes a lot to create life. Learned that the hard way. But enough of my ranting, your girl should be fine and congrats on your new soon-to-be LO :)

Side note, some docs say wait 3 cycles b4 trying again, however, many say (now) the first cycle is fine  so even when it comes to the "stricter" docs, even then they would probably say that 4 months is plenty good enough :D
