Pregnancy after surgery?

I wasn't sure where to put this?

My husband and I are not trying to conceive but we are not preventing either. I have very irregular menstrual cycles so no one is holding their breath over here. Anyhoo.. I have bounced this question of a doctor or two lightly and they did not seem to worried but nor did they give me any details!

Right after birth I had surgery for esophageal atresia/TEF. (EA is the esophagus not ending in the stomach like its suppose to) With the three major scars we have always wondered if my stomach would expand "like normal" during pregnancy?

However more recently, seven weeks ago, I had Laparoscopic surgery to repair an inguinal hernia on my right side. Does anyone here have any experience with pregnancy after the hernia repair/a mesh? I have been wondering how THAT will work as well...
