Hi ladies. So this pregnancy was going very well until all of a sudden my blood pressure went high and stayed up. They had to monitor me at hospital yesterday and baby looked good. So far it's not preeclampsia but if not careful can turn to that. When they monitored me my blood pressure came down but he still wants me to go on bed rest. Anyone else have this?

I did have this with my daughter yes, but not until 38 weeks. I was hospitalized for a week and put on an obscene amount of medication. Mine never went to protein in the wee or anything, but I did end up having her without ever getting out of the hospital. There was other girls on my Ward at less weeks pregnant than me who were there until delivery. I'm seriously hoping that this time I can manage mine with medication and you too. Take that bed rest and don't push it, truly rest, it's the best thing for you xxxxxx

Replied to your other thread a bit more fully. I have this, I developed it in the past few weeks. I really feel for you as it is just horrible. :hugs:

I had this in March when I was 35 weeks. I was kept in for a week for monitoring and baby was thankfully fine. Discharged on bed rest and medication. I got protein at 39 weeks, but only +1. Had to have CTG every morning from there on and at 40+3 was induced as BP was ridiculously high. Thankfully my little boy arrived with no problems for either of us.

I had to monitor my BP 4 times a day from 35 weeks and everything raised it so after a week or so of doing everything as normal and feeling like crap I went on bed rest. Hopefully you and your LO will be okay but definitely rest as much as possible.

Does anyone know does in come back in subsequent pregnancies?

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if it returns with each pregnancy

My dream would be them letting me home on bed rest if it happens again. I hate the thought of weeks in hospital away from my children. I am to scared to Google if it comes back with every pregnancy.

I monitor my blood pressure at home and it is always normal. So I just try to take it easy and continue to take the medication. Because of the high blood pressure that one day the doctor has me some in twice a week for an ultrasound to see if baby is okay. So far he looks great and is not effected at all. I dont know that I really have Pregnancy Induced Hypertension since my blood pressure hasnt been high since this one day.

I did with ds... for months! I was put on bedtrst for 2 1/2 months before he was born. Was able to stay home :) I had non stress tests twice a week... blood pressure meds, many trips to the hospital because it would spike and not come down. Ds was born one week early perfectly healthy :) my dr is concerned because my bp is starting to go up already this pregnancy :( there are wider things but it can get scary

Yeah, it is def not fun having to worry about blood pressure. Mine has been fine ever since that one scare. I am on blood pressure medication and I monitor my blood pressure at home but it always stays pretty normal.

I had this with my first pregnancy which turned into preeclampsia. I spent months on bed rest. This time around they started me on CoQ-10 as soon as we found out we were expecting. Its a supplement that you can buy just about anywhere and its not too expensive. My midwife advised that it doesn't have any negative side effects and so far it does seem to be helping with this pregnancy. May want to ask about it. Good luck and I wish you all the best!
