I have a very strange phobia... i am almost too embarrassed to say what it is because it sounds pathetic.... BUT here goes.........

I have a fear of stickers! Or anything sticky! :haha:

Ever since i was a young girl i couldnt stand having sticky hands, i earned the nickname "sticky vicky" off my family!

I still cant stand stickiness, especially stickers! Ever since i became pregnant its worsened...... I am literally heaving if i even SEE a sticker!!!

My daughter came out of school with a head teachers award sticker on her top and she was so proud of herself but i just couldnt look at it, i was holding my heaves in all the way home.

What it is, is that if anyone puts a sticker on me i will freak out i scream !
I cant peal stickers off new shoes and for some reason price stickers are the worst!I just get in such a panic that i am scared it wont come off me properly and i will have sticky stickers stuck on me!

If i get anything sticky on my hands i have to wash them straight away too else i will be sick!

The OH thinks i am mad! I feel like i am mad!

Are there anyone else with strange phobias??????? I need heeeeeeeeelp!!!!

I have a phobia of groups of 3-D circles. Odd, yes. But you run into them in the darndest places. There is an american brand of deodorant where you click the bottom and the cream raises up through little circles. Horrifying.

Shudder just thinking about it.

I'm also scared of schools of fish. Not single ones, just when there are lots together. Don't run into those often either (though I had to turn off Attenborough the other day).

Mine is similar to yours Vix - I can't stand stickers being stuck on my hands. It physically makes me feel sick!

Other than that, I'm not really scared of a lot. Oh...... Eyes freak me out. I can't watch anything where they are operating on eyes, or eyes popping out, even people with pink eye. Eurgh! There's no way on earth I could put contacts in. Gross

I can't stand stickers being put on me anywhere! Even on my clothes because i know i will have to peel them off and touch them.

When i was pregnant with my daughter i was a care assistant in a nursing home and i was delegated to doing the laundry as i was expecting, well ... the residents had their names on stickers on their wardrobe doors and the matron at the home wanted me to get the stickers off the doors

I was quite adamant that no way was i doing it and if they wanted to sack me they could go ahead!!!!! They just laughed at me but i was soooo shaken up at the idea of peeling the bloody stickers off the doors that i had to go sit down for half an hour!!!

I swear i am tapped in the head!!!

I have phobias but I think they are pretty common ones. Fear of vomiting, lightning/bad storms, and going up ladders.

The bad storms fear is because we get random tornadoes here and that scares the crap out of me. Last time there was a bad storm coming I made a friend come get me and take me to their house because their house is safer than mine and they have a basement.

And thanks to my grandma, I'm afraid to go pee during a storm because she told me when I was little that lightning would go through the pipes and get me. (wasn't that an awesome thing to tell a 5 yr old?)

I do my best to hide them when I have to face them and kids are around though. I don't want them to end up with the same fears because of me. I can't clean up puke though so that will always be DHs job just like it was with my older kids with my ex. I'm fine with spit up but once there is real food and not just breast milk I can't handle it. I got lucky before because it was a VERY rare thing with them.

Wow, I'm fascinated by some of these phobias. Stickers? 3D circles? Whacked! I don't think anyone should ever feel ''tapped'' over their phobias. There's a name on so many phobias and people are so individual that I bet there's someone out there with a phobia for just about anything you could imagine! I have a couple of common ones, like heights and bugs being on me.

Slightly more unusual but not uncommon: fear of water I can't see through, even if it's a ''safe lake'' where I know there aren't any dangerous creatures. Forget about swimming in the ocean. I will go up to my thighs/waist but I'd never go in further than that, and even then, I'm a bit freaked.

I really hate walking on sidewalks next to roads. I'm terrified someone's going to run me down someday. Unfortunately I can't really get away from it and have to do it, anyway, but it always makes me feel anxious and worried.

OMG the bit about the water that you cant see through is like me too! This is gonna sound even more like i am mad but i cant even look at the sea in an atlas because i go so dizzy and nervous!!!!

I can't go in water either. I just about manage swimming pools, but not the sea or lakes! Eeeeeek! I'm not a fan of big expanses of water- and Im fine on big massive boats like ferries, but you have to fight me to get on anything smaller!

I have a phobia of sickness, birds (omg birds when they flap there wings.... *shudders*) i dont like spiders (but not so much a phobia..).... I feel like a frak most of the time lol.... I also have a fear of water.... like canals (where u cant see the bottom of it) i cant turn my back on the sea... walking over bridges with deep water underneath.... i love to swim though just in a swimming pool lmao...

Yeah, I can relate about the ocean stuff big time. Since the first big tsunami hit the news, I have this fear now about being at the beach and a tsunami comes crashing in...shudders...

I have two friends with a similar phobia. Bandaids are right out!
I myself have a fear of talking on the phone. I break out in a cold sweat and work my way into a panic attack if I know I need to make a call. I've worked on it and I do much better than I used to.

If you ever get a chance to vacation in Roatan, Honduras you might really enjoy it. I won't swim in murky water either and it's pretty hard to get me in the ocean at all due to jellyfish. In Roatan though the water is crystal clear no matter how far out you go. It's got the 2nd best reef in the world and about 100-200 feet off shore the reef drops off into nothingness and you can see forever. It's AMAZING. I was snorkling about 50 feet out and came face to face with a huge lionfish that was gorgeous. Also met up with a blue and yellow fish that was bigger than me! It was the first time I had ever been comfy in ocean water in my life. Everything is cheap too.
