Pregnant after cone biopsy, short cervix

I know there is a thread started for incompetent cervix already but nothing specific to ladies who have had a cone biopsy.

I've been referred to a high risk ob since 13 weeks and my initial cervical checks were fine (although doc said at that early stage it was hard to distinguish cervix from the bottom of the uterus which could throw off measurements.

Yesterday at just 17 weeks I measured just under 2.5, either 2.39 or 2.47 (she's looking at 2.5 cm in a 'normal' length cervix.

Anyone had similar measurements at just 17 weeks?

She's scheduled another scan in a weeks time to see if the prog and rest help stop any further shortening. Can't bare the thought of a late miscarriage or a very early premie

Hey there... a little more of my history...I had a "LEEP" done on my cervix and now pregnant with my 3rd I have an incomplete cervix. At 19 weeks I was measuring under 2.5 and started to get weekly checks. Now I'm 30 weeks! finally! My measurements have ranged from 1.2 to 1.8 over the last 10 weeks... but CLOSED and HOLDING which is the important thing!.

How are you doing now that its been a few more weeks?

Mommakiss you're doing great!! 30 weeks! Wow. I can't even imagine how elated I'll be to get that far.

My cervix was borderline short at 17 weeks. Doc immediately put me on vag prog sups and was ordered to work from home and stay off my feet as much as possible. I've had measurements taken every week since and measured anywhere from just above 3 to 4 cm. My doc tells me my cervix will shorten naturally the further along I get which is normal. I also found out I have a curved cervix (strange) which is apparently a good sign?? Next appt is tomorrow. Hoping for over 3 at the least until over 24 weeks.

Cautiously optimistic at this point. So happy to hear you're doing well!

3.5-3.7 cm today. Holding steady for now!! On to week 22!

I had keep and a cone biopsy at 20 years old. I had biopsies every six months and leeps every 2-3 years. I was monitered every two weeks. I'm 31now. My cervix was 2.3cm.

I went SIXTEEN DAYS overdue.
The specialist consultant said it is lterally 50/50 allot of it is hormone based
Also we found out I'd another issue my body wouldn't detach the placenta. So no my body does not want to give birth.

On the opposite side of the coin there's also a chance I won't dilate due to cervical scar tissue. So a rough birth/emerg c section is another fear of mine. Ha. There are just too many fears, but have to put then aside and just wait and see what happens.

That's what happened me I never dilated. And I went from 2cm to 10cm in 15minutes on pitocin. I literally was in labor for 15minutes.

23 weeks today and holding steady at 3.5-4 cm. Doc is ready to move my appts to every 2 weeks after Christmas. Babe is doing great as well. So relieved.
