Hi. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who is also dealing with pregnancy with gallbladder problems. I’m 20 weeks along today and last night/this morning had a horrid attack. It was seriously the worst one I’ve ever had, and I’m still a bit sore from it. I’ve been watching my fat intake like crazy, but still it hit. Thankfully it is only my second one since becoming pregnant, but boy was it nasty. I was a month away from my surgery when I found out I was pregnant, so now I will have to live with it for a bit longer. I guess I was just wondering if there anyone else was dealing with this problem, and how you are coping and that sort of thing.

I keep getting attacks aswell after eating anything with fat in it, its agony, I think its my gallbladder but am yet to have it confirmed by an ultrasound. I thought it was heartburn at first but the pain is way to bad and on my right hand side where my gallbladder would be and it radiates to my chest and back, these attacks last for hours at a time, its worse when I lie down. Am waiting for an appointment to have it confirmed. Is there anything you do that helps your attacks?

Unfortunately not a whole lot. I can usually focus through them for the first couple of hours, but after hours 2-3 or so, it really gets hard. Yesterday I finally broke down and went to the ER (after 6 hours and some pretty bad bouts of vomiting), and they prescribed Vicodin. It actually did help with the pain, which was nice. Until yesteday keeping my diet restricted to less than 40 grams of total fat in one day was working pretty well to keep away attacks, so now I need to work on tweaking that amount down, I guess. Perhaps limiting the total fat a given meal to 10 grams of fat or less instead of the 15-20 grams I had been holding to may help.

Yours sounds exactly like what mine feel like, and how mine started. Good luck, and I hope they can help you out. Gallbladder attacks are agony! I'll be so happy to have mine removed after I have my son.
