I took lo to the doctors today after days of wondering if my lo's eating was normal and they have told me she may have reflux and they have prescribed Gaviscon.
What kind of change should I expect to see in her? Will it make her a bit more comfortable?

If it works it should make her more comfortable my second was on it for silent reflux . Hope it settles ur baby bless them X it may make them constipated just wTch out for tha X

My little boy was on gaviscon for months for reflux. It helped reduce his vomitting but it didn't necessarily make him more comfortable because the 'silent reflux' symptoms were still there, as it's not really for that. He needed a different medicine to reduce the acid and make him more comfortable.
Gaviscon did make him very constipated - which again, he had to have another medicine for!

I tried it with James and it reduced the spit up but made him constipated.

On no 😞 thanks ladies, I was really hoping this would make her more comfortable 😞

Skylar was on it last week and it made her do much more happier
It thicknef her poo but did not constipate but were now using ranatadine

Thanks ladies. I might give it a try but in every other bottle??
Memmaj her symptoms are crying and fussing on a feed, not been able to lie flat, pulling her legs up to her stomach constantly, congested and snorting and grunting a lot! She is also not even 3 weeks old and drinking over 40oz a day. The doctor wasn't sure if it is reflux or not but gave us gaviscon to try.

Check out my thread on here. Our reflux was that bad too and is now improving with natural remedies. Also many moms swear by Nat Phos to cure reflux.
Dietary changes can help as well. I avoid Gluten and Dairy.

Bless her, that sounds just like my little man used to be - except he used to projectile vomit after every feed too :-(

If you feel the gaviscon isn't working, don't hesitate to go back. I ended up feeling like a pest at my doctors surgery but you have to stand your ground and not be fobbed off with unhelpful comments from GP's like 'all baby's cry', 'it's just normal colic', and 'isn't there anyone that can help you..?'

I was being told to try certain things for 3 weeks before bringing him back; but you can tell way sooner than that if something isn't working at all : and theres no way I was going to leave my baby in pain and vomitting so badly for 3 weeks to please them and their numbers!
So just go back if you feel it's making no difference and ask to try something else.

What formula is she on..?
