Anyone ever have luck with preseed? I've read a lot of different things about it

Did you have any issues with it??? I read about people having miscarriages but I'm wonsering if it's more of a cooncidence? Some were saying it helps the bad sperm get up there!

Its just a lube but it doesnt damage or hinder sperm swimming like other lubes do

ok, As per my understanding if sperm is bad then it'll not be able to fertilize the egg. If egg has been fertilized than i don't think sperm was bad.
Secondly, we need to understand EWCM helps sperms travel up. So if you are having EWCM then almost 80% (Its just an example) of sperms will travel.
if you are using Pre seed as you don't generate EWCM of your own, then this percentage is decreased. So i don't think it helps bad sperms to travel.
Instead Sperms needs to fight more with pre seed :haha:

Thanks ladies! Two years ago I got lucky the first month with our daughter. We are in our second month trying this time around but I'm 33 now, weigh more and hubby's testosterone way low now, docs were surprised we even conceived last time so just trying everything I can.

Are you on a prenatal because they can help if ur lacking a vitamin. He should be in a mens one too. Gl

I loved using preseed. Worked first month for us but we used it with clomid. Good luck

Hubby hasn't had an SA yet, but I did end up pregnant 2 years ago, but by now with it going from 160 to 94 ok sure his sperm count is lower or non existent. My cycle is pretty on point so if nothing happens this month he is going to see a specialist before he starts taking his testosterone

I used preseed, and an instead cup. Did not conceive the first time, or the second... etc.

I used it for 1 month and it didn't work, all I got was a UTI from it.

Hi Ladies I know I would be out of topic with my question but it seems that no matter where I look there's no one online right now so if there is anyone here that can give me any advice at all I would be most grateful!

so I have a very regular 28 day cycle up until today. Last month af showed on 13th Apr and I have been using charts so I know I am supposed to ovulate on cd 14 which was on the 26th of Apr (my ovulation has been very regular and cause I get cramps on the day I ovulate which has always been exactly on cd14) so we had BD'd on both 25th and 26th Apr and did not think about it after.
To my surprise on 1st May cd 19 I experienced that same old cramp I usually have on ovulation day and 3 days after i noticed a little blood when I wiped after a bathroom visit after dh and I had some light fun(no penetration). Again I didn't think too much about it until two days ago when I started feeling sudden dizziness I checked my chart and I realized my AF was due on that day which was cd28. It then hit me, that my pms symptoms didn't show up! I didn't have all the usual signs I'd normally have that starts 1&1/2 weeks before AF but I remembered the cramp I had on cd 19 which could have been implantation or late ovulation. I am now cd 30 and still no AF but I started eating a lot, feeling hungry and sleepy all the time and boobs turned sore with dark brown(near black) nips.

Should I wait to see if AF shows up this friday which would be 14days after the possible 1st May ovulation. OR I could just test it now!

Would appreciate any answers. I am SOooo lost......

You also might read rules for forum, your not supposed to cross post the exact same post again and again or cross post the same post. Plus your hijacking peoples threads. :(

My pinkie, u probably get answers if you make your own thread in here instead of hijacking the posters thread...:)

Hi,

I'm and MD and am TTC conceive with my wife. I did a literature search on Preseed as there seems to be a lot of questions about it and found this article:

J Assist Reprod Genet (2014) 31:333–339

The effects of vaginal lubricants on sperm function:
an in vitro analysis

(this website won't actually let me post the article or links but if you go to pubmed dot gov then you can search the article to read it yourself.)

This article compares different lubricants and their effect on sperm viability, fragmentation and mobility invitro. They concluded that Preseed out of the 9 lubricants tested had the best overall viability and motility without any sperm DNA framgentation. Even though this was laboratory tested and not live tested, I plan on trying this with my wife as she often has slight amount of CM during her time of ovulation and this may help with lubrication as well as motility/viability as that is what CM is supposed to aid in. I feel it is at least worth a shot.

Hope this helps anyone TTC. Good luck. For the record I have no affiliation with Preseed.

It took 4 months to conceive my son and for the first three months I used preseed. The fourth and final month I didnt use preseed, as I felt that that could be the reason why I wasnt successful. I got pg on the fourth month.

I have to use lubrication for a pelvic condition i have, so I really did my research. Preseed is the only one i would trust because it has been in a clinical study and out of the ones studied, it is the only one that did not harm or slow down sperm. Conceive plus and some other brands were not in this study, so they may be just as good, but I would prefer to use what was proven to be safe. Slipper stuff (which is my favorite) claims to be sperm friendly, but it is not, as it is the same ingredients as one of the other lubes in the study that seemed to slow down or harm sperm. However there is nothing that has proven that preseed will help sperm-only that it won't hurt it. So if you are going to use lubrication, then I personally would go with preseed. I used it when ttc both children and I did not have any miscarriages. It took 3-4 months to get pregnant and I was over 35 for both (39 for my second).

What does testosterone have to do with getting pregnant? Does it do something to sperm count or something? I don't know anything about that, but if it is sperm count/motility etc, then there are things that your dh can take to help with that. My dh took fertilaid for men and maca - he didn't have a known problem, but I had read that both of those were very good for sperm. I've been getting a lot of my supplement information from www.doublepinkline.com THey have a section for men and on the products page it lists supplements that men can take. I know fertilaid and maca are the two main ones (I think those were the ones listed on there too...can't remember if it listed more) But again, i'm not sure what exactly testosterone does with fertility, so it may not be necessary for him!
