I'm not sure if I'm going crazy or not but I feel like something might be wrong. I woke up with horrible back pain from the bottom of my back all the way to the top (It feel like the pain is all down my spine) maybe I just slept funny? But anyway, I started feeling really nauesous and I've been having really bad cramps that are constant and also diarehha(tmi I'm sorry). I'm not sure if these cramps are contractions or not but when I stand up and move around my tummy gets really hard. Preterm labour or just overly worried about nothing? Thanks in advance ladies.

I would get checked out just to be on the safe side.

Sounds like BH to me but deffo get checked out if you feel something might be wrong.

Id say if they were contractions they'd be causing pain/discomfort. Cramping like period, you'd have to stand and breathe it away.

I'm going to say, if its worrying you enough to post on here, its enough to get checked out. I posted on here when I had my preterm labour, but everyone suggested it was BH. Whilst in most cases it IS, its always worthwhile getting checked out. If you've had diarrhea you may be dehydrated so its even more important to drink loads of fluids that will help ward off BH.

Phone your midwife, chick :hugs:

Thanks ladies...I talked to healthlink and also my doctors nurse. They both think I need to go in. I'm going to lay down for a bit and see if anything wards off a bit.

My last appointment less then a week ago I had protein in my urine and also low bp so I'm not sure if that is something causing these issues. My doctor ordered a urine test (to see if i have a uti)and the regular diabetes test so I need to go do that asap.

Go now hun, the sooner you go in the better. That I say from experience.

I had an issue similar to this this past week. I was having back pain, cramps, and some BH contractions that were coming in waves. I did everything they tell you to do (i.e. laying on your left side, drinking tons of water, and applying heat to the back muscles) and nothing was helping. So I called my OB and they wanted me to come in that day. When I went in, they checked my cervix and everything appeared fine, but my doctor was still worried enough that she pushed my next appointment up a week. So I would definitely advocate going in as soon as you can. Chances are it's nothing serious, but you don't want to be taking chances with these things.

I would go in. period like cramps and if they are not subsiding with movement like walking or laying down - or after emptying bladder etc... you should def go in. the ladies here helped me make my decision to go. They've been great - I think you should go.

I didn't end up going in last night and I ended up lying down. Things seemed to improve until today and now I'm in pain and have my Hubbi rushing home from out of town. Should have listened and went in yesterday. I've got pain in both sides and lower abdomen radiating to my back. Will keep y'all posted

Hope all is okay and will look for an update :flower:

Wow glad you went in!! Hoping its nothing, keep us updated.

So I'm back from my assesment. They did about a 20 minute assessment monitoring contractions and baby and I had about 5 contractions in 20 mins but they were only lasting 15seconds. I thought it was a lot of contractions to have in a 20minute period but they called my doctor and he seems to think its due to the heat and to drink a lot of fluid (which I have been doing). I would have thought having contractions that much would be somewhat concerning even if they are just braxton hicks (I've read if you have four or more in an hour to call the midwife or doctor) butbi guess if they aren't concerned I shouldn't be.

I don't always trust western doctors for that reason, but I say trust your gut.

Did they check your cervix, at least to be safe?

I have had BH as quick as that, but they went away.(thankfully) it's really important to stay hydrated.

A similar thing happened to me last weekend. I started having short contractions on Saturday and they continued through Sunday morning, so I finally went in. The nurse in labor and delivery hooked me up to the monitor for 20 minutes. She told me what I was having was called "irritability" because the contractions were shorter than 50 seconds. I had about 5 during the time I was on the monitor. I thought it was strange because of everything I had read online about how you should go in right away. They didn't even check the length of my cervix to see if it was okay. She told me to drink tons of water and rest.

On Thursday I went in to my doctor for a follow up and he checked my cervix length (all good) and took samples for a culture. He pretty much told me that some women's bodies just respond this way to pregnancy. He also said don't be afraid to go in if anything changes or just doesn't feel right. Preterm labor isn't something to mess around with.

I will say the the last two days have been better. I only have a few a day and I can stand up without having one now! I hope you are feeling better and the contractions subside.

How scary for you, I hope theyre right and rest and fluids are all you need. Please just bear in mind though that when I gave birth to dd my contractions never got longer than 20-25 seconds. Just want you to know in case you have any more and they make any assumptions because your contractions are "short". Rest up and look after yourself.
and baby...

No they didn't check my cervix or anything so I'm hoping they are right. I'm just going to take it easy tthese next few days and hope they settle down a bit and drink a ton of water. Thanks ladies!
